The CrossFit Coach: Scott Panchik
Спорт
Nine-time @CrossFitGamesTV athlete Scott Panchik (cf.games/41oavAQ) may be known best for his prowess on the competition floor, but the 35-year-old says he’s an even better coach than he is a CrossFit athlete.
“I’ve always seen myself as an affiliate owner that is an athlete and not an athlete that is an affiliate owner,” Panchik says.
Owner of 10-year affiliate @cfmentality (cfmentality.com/) in Mentor, Ohio, Panchik, a Level 2 CrossFit (www.crossfit.com/certificate-courses/level-2?) trainer, dedicates his days to caring for his wife and two daughters, and helping his members become better versions of themselves. Living a life of service is something Panchik thrives on.
“This community is a big part of my life,” he says. “It’s a big part of my family, and something I will spend the rest of my life serving.”
As a coach, Panchik’s presence and attitude radiate inside the walls of his affiliate, and he says trust, accountability, and care are three marks of a great coach.
“That’s why people keep coming back - because he cares so much about everybody in this gym,” says Panchik’s wife, Christin. “It’s a ripple effect. The rest of the coaches in here - we see how much he cares and we want to care that much. And then our members see how much our coaches care and then they start caring about each other that much. It’s the best fire you could ask for.”
He’s seen loads of success in his athletic career but the wins he gets from coaching his members is second to none, Panchik says.
“I love being in front of our community,” he says. “I love having the opportunity to serve others and to teach them all the things that I’ve learned on my journey so that they can be successful in life.”

uff... so I wasn't the only one
Made me tear up when he shared the story of his one gym member Henry. Just amazing. I am a new cross fitter, one year in and when I started I had a hard time with mobility , I struggled with all of it. Plus i Was over weight and had bad knees and I'm older person But in that year I am a Henry... My knees are stronger, I can now hang on the bar and Im able to now do walking lunges I did the open of course it was the foundation workouts but it was amazing to be a part of this gym and community. I'm learning everyday to trust the coaches and their help and to realize this is now my life and I'm stronger, lighter in weight and I see my body growing stronger. Henry's story was just beautiful.

I had the privilege of meeting Scott at a “wounded warrior” event over 10 years ago now and even back then his focus was serving others. This was when he was first getting into competition and I’ll never forget he had ONE question the entire day and it was about how to make things in CrossFit more digestible for adaptive athletes. That’s where his focus was at this event.

Вот Панчик это мужик, уважаю и ценю его! Один из немногих, кто не отвернулся от старика когда все остальные в тот же день заверещали что мы больше не кроссфит и ничего общего с ним не имеем. Человек слова и дела.
"Coach first" 🤩 And, Henry - WOW! He is THE guy!

@@crossfit I agree. I have probably introduced 50 people to CF and had them thank me for what it has done for them. My last recruit had just lost his wife to cancer and now wanted to get back to making health a priority. I told him that Crossfit will give him an amazing community and help him deal with his depression. He said his friends told him he was nuts and tried to talk him out of it and just become a gym member. Through much communication about pain, diet, and embarrassment over his current fitness level, he has now invited his son to join him. He is moving forward and making progress.
Enhorabuena!
Great video!

Go Henry!
I want to be a better coach, I taught swimming for about 10 years and it was still the most rewarding experience I've ever had the privilege to be paid for. almost 15 years, 5 with a cl1, its still the best thing I think I've ever put energy into. I really think my retirement plan is to open a gym tho, I think that far down the line I'll have the capital to open, and maintain, plus all the knowledge picked up over the years from all the other people... I wanna be the reason someone doesn't get a replacement, looses 100 lbs, looses 200 lbs, not being afraid to climb a step or stairs... a boy can dream haha!
