id say most of the units ( engines ) are isolated and not running. sometimes you have that many units on a train when they need to move them from one place to another.

Larry Power Road grade crossing in Bourbonnais, Illinois... the closest grade crossing to me, and one I've been to for many years.

BCOL 1700 must have been reactivated. It was sidelined along with the other B39-8E's for a very long time.

Oh yes, I am so happy I've seen it. I just saw BCOL 4618 today, the only 1 of 2 CN painted C40-8Ms. Sadly that was when I was heading to school and it passed me up... so no video sadly. I didn't know what 1700 was until I looked it up. Glad I can check that off. All I need to complete my BC Rail list is to see one of those blue B39-8Es and BCOL 4641. =)

The person in the pink-ish shirt is a woman, and the black person is a man. Thanks for watching!

Canon Vixia HF R10. I recommend some of the new Sony Handycam CX series. Canon seems to be more of a money-oriented company to me.

This was extremely interesting! (I watched both parts 1 & 2) I've seen crew changes before, of course, but this was different. It looked like two crews just exchanged trains. Any idea why? The only thing I can guess is that one crew was short on time, and the train going in the opposite direction was almost at it's destination. Was the woman the engineer or the conductor? - I couldn't tell for sure if she was in the engineer's seat as the train rolled by. Thanks.

KGSnow2 they change crews if they're out of time or if it's their final terminal that they're are arriving at. Don't know how it is for Cn crews in the states but in Canada we usually only work 10 hours and they are supposed to get us off the train and at our place of rest by our 10th hour but they can work us till our 12th hour and after that the train comes to a stop wherever we Are. Fra rules

This is how you make people hate railroads. Why couldn't they stop short of the grade crossing.

These train crews look like they're carrying all of their worldly possession with them. They almost look like "street people".

quite stupid to do crew change when your blocking a highway. if i was on the road, i would be out of my car cussing the engineer

Yeah yeah, well I'd pay to watch you do that one. You do realize the engineer doesn't decide where to do the crew change right? That'd be like cussing out the cashier because something rang up wrong. If you'd like to know, it's around 15 or 20 minutes (I forget which) that the railroad can block a public road legally without notifying the municipality. You should watch more of my videos. I have some better ones in the collection. I gotta check... This road has been blocked for much longer than shown here. The next road down is a bridge over the tracks, so most of the people actually just turned around and drove up a block and took that instead.

john stafford if they were on their 12th hour they don't have a choice. If they work a minute over their 12th they can go to jail or face fines. For employees and the railroad. And we are allowed to block a crossing for 5 minutes max if we are stopped if the train is moving at 1 mph over a crossing we can block it all day as long as you don't change direction of travel.
