    Regarding the hypostatic Union of Christ -- what is the difference between the Council of at Nicea and the Council at Chalcedon?

  • @gregmarra9457

    @gregmarra9457

    4 жыл бұрын

    It was the Council of Chalcedon that explicitly affirmed the hypostatic union, if I'm not mistaken; what was at issue at Nicea was the ontological relationship between Jesus and the Father. You could say that Nicea, and Constantinople in 383, clarified the Church's belief in the Trinity, while Ephesus and Chalcedon clarified the Church's belief in the Incarnation and its implications.

    It sounds to me, @@gregmarra9457 , like Nicea established the divinity of Jesus but Chalcedon established the actual hypostatic union -- 100% God and, at the same time, 100% human.

    God has no beginning, so no human bore God. The sense that the eternal God has a beginning -- is incorrect. What has a definitive beginning is the moment in linear time when God took on the nature of humanity. That said, God became human in Mary's womb, at the moment of conception. As a fetus, the Son of God was fully 100% God and, at the same time, fully 100% human. Then, eight days after Mary gave birth to Him, the infant Son of God was given the name Jesus.

    I'll help you out. I finished this video. And I'm like Arminian and believe people can fail salvation from this scripture I found Galatians 5:19-21 that when sinning that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians was Paul's teachings, proves it can fail eternal salvation. Grandpa believed he couldn't go to Hell, and Arminians believe he could. I'm against suicide. I was depressed also to suicidal. I almost did suicide as a 5-Point Calvinist. And these scriptures got me more hope. I became more Arminian now from these scriptures I posted on here. I believe people can fail salvation. Loving God is wanting to be useful for him much. What if a person could do that much of his time? And I enjoy working from this. People who enjoy working. When it's more likely to be boring to non-Christians. Mark 9:33-35 New American Standard Bible 1995 33 They came to Capernaum; and when He [a]was in the house, He began to question them, “What were you discussing on the way?” 34 But they kept silent, for on the way they had discussed with one another which of them was the greatest. 35 Sitting down, He called the twelve and *said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, [b]he shall be last of all and servant of all.” . This is for Christian world domination. Why to raise kids Christians. God Son Jesus said similarly to whoever is useful the most is the best merited of the apostles. Useful merit for eternal rewards and competition with other Christians. With God Son Lord Jesus Christ faith teaching, people will want to be useful for the kingdom of Heaven, which usefulness happens on Earth and if any other place. We need to help this world as much as we can! This text could motivate, supposed to be Christian people, to do all types of usefulness. Chores, volunteering, grade school, high school, college, and work. Good people, this world needs them.

    Except from THE ONENESS OF GOD by Reverend David K. Bernard: We do not advocate the use of the Apostles’ Creed for the following reasons. (1) It did not originate with the apostles as its name implies. We do not want to create a false impression among people by using that title. (2) It does not necessarily emphasize all the important themes of the New Testament, especially some aspects that are important to emphasize today in light of false doctrines developed over the centuries. (3) Instead of trying to formulate a creed that compre hensively states doctrine in a binding way, we prefer to use the Bible itself for summary statements of doctrine. (4) Use of this creed today could associate us with trinitarianism. Even though the writers did not have that doctrine in mind, the vast majority of ordinary people today would consider it to be a trini tarian statement. To avoid identification with trinitar ianism and Roman Catholicism, we do not use the Apostles’ Creed.

    The problem with Chalcedon it is makes it sound like Jesus did miracles by his own attributes of deity. But Scripture does not bear this out. The book of John illustrates that Jesus did miracles by the Father dwelling in him in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is why Jesus did no miracles in his childhood, or early adult life. It was after the Holy Spirit came upon him that the miracles started. The 2nd person of the Trinity, the Logos, kept his identity when he became a man, so he was divine. Chalcedon gave us a Nestorian Jesus with a paradox.

    No, mother of God means that the fetus in Mary was a complete union of God and man it is a glorification of Christ in Mary‘s womb the Greek term is the theotikos the god bearer In other words the Word became flesh in the womb of Mary not at his birth a very important term at the time of the churches history at this point great question

    We, then, following the holy fathers, all with one consent teach men to confess one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, the same *perfect in Godhead and also perfect in manhood;* truly God *and truly man*, of a rational *soul and body;* coessential with the Father according to the Godhead, and *consubstantial* with us according to the *manhood;* in all things like unto us, without sin; begotten before all ages of the Father according to the Godhead, and in these latter days, for us and for our salvation, born of the Virgin Mary, the mother of God, according to the *manhood;* one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten, to be acknowledged in *two natures,* without confusion, *without change,* without *division*, without *separation;* the distinction of natures being by *no means taken away by the union,* but rather the property of each nature being *preserved,* and concurring in one person and one subsistence, not parted or divided into two persons, but one and the same Son, and only begotten, God the Word, the Lord Jesus Christ; as the prophets from the beginning have declared concerning Him, and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself has taught us, and the creed of the holy fathers has handed down to us.
