Annalise was right on that rod! You better watch out Beach Bum! She's going to be outfishing you any day now! I love that you have her out there at a young age. My dad started me out at the age of 4 fishing in ponds and surf fishing by the age of 5. I have so many great memories of the 2 of us fishing together. Cherish these days!

Always great to see a family fishing together. Great stuff! I like the lighter rod use. I had some 9wt fly rod blanks made into downrigger rods, it was like fishing a wet noodle. Put Diawa 27H reels on them w/ 12 lb test. A 35lb king salmon would put the gear to the test.

Time to get back into Surf Casting here on Long Island, NY. Haven't gone since I was a teen in the 70s. Over the decades there's been a LOT of great Rods and Reels that have been forgotten and can be bought cheap at garage sales. Maybe even as good as today's best. Can you recommend anything like that. I can't afford new top rigs. Striped Bass will be running in the Autumn and me thinks it's time to eat some AGAIN! 16 to 20 pounders are what we can keep 28" to 31" ONLY. But they do run up to 40 to 50 pounds, but have to be thrown back! Thanks! Beautiful Family and it's always so much better fishing with others that enjoy it as much as YOU! Never Stop!

I also bought the 12' ninja dagger fishing pole and the 10' bummy stick paired up with the 4500 penn slammer IV xd with 30 lb braid. I love that combo. I didn't acknowledge who you were, but I knew who you were. I'm subscribed to your channel. Anyway, God bless you and your family. I will be at Beach Bum Outdoors on Wednesday morning (June 29th) about 8:00 am. I will be in Gulf Shores until Sunday. This will be my first time surf fishing the Gulf. I hope to pick up a Lil Bummy and a Ninja Dagger 11' before going to the beaches. I met you all at your grand opening and I was able to talk to Matt at the Salt Strong grand opening as well. Looking forward to seeing you all at the store and possibly on the water.

@@BamaBeachBum I already have a Bummy Stik that I have paired with a Penn Slammer 4500 DX. I have a Daiwa BG MQ 2500 to go with the Lil Bummy and a Penn Spinfisher VI 5500 to go with the Dagger 11'. I also have an Off-shore Angler 9' surf combo that I bought from Bass Pro Shops a few years ago. Hopefully it will stand up to whatever I may encounter this week. I think I'm ready to catch some fish.

Speaking from ignorance here... I know nothing of beach fishing. Is it normal to use a big jack like that one for shark bait? Seems like you'd throw that beauty back. Is that like using a largemouth bass for catfish bait? Much respect... just wondering.

Jacks are very common shark bait. They are plentiful, un-regulated, bloody, and not harvested for table fare.

If I were to actually make it I would need some kind of all terrain wheel chair or cart so I could make it to the spots on the beach. But once I got there it want be so bad. Keep up the good work. What is the fishing cart that you are using?

I do want to try your lill bummy, you do need to state that the stealhead blanks are disind to handly fish well over 20 lbs in fast flowing rivers thay can handle the acthion.

What is that tool you used to remove the hook?

Ooooh, a decent Jack chopped up for shark bait... I'm not so sure about doing that. There are plenty of junk fish out there... Great catch tho'.
