I thought that at first, but her perspective as an "ctiy girl outsider" puts a unique twist to this reporting of the festival. It's rewarding to finally see one form of her self peek through at the end. She did not give a negative comment whatsoever about the festival or the people. The negativity was always towards herself and her comfort (or lack thereof). But this is just like city folk, they have a hard exterior and are not likely to get touchy feely whether it's emotionally or physically

She embodies millions of people that go to festivals and cant let go. I feel like what her persona portrays when i attend festivals 😂. I love festivals but although I try to fit in i am not spiritual so I find alot of the stuff available just hilarious and goofy. To each their own and thats my favorite part is that people can be free to express themselves. This was enjoyable.

If I had a penny for every time I had to pretend to be even half as interested as the person talking to me about crystals, good vibes, harsh vibes, energy, patriarchies, godesses, the spirit, etc.... I'd have at least 5 bucks. It was always funny to see people hypocritically get emotional about some idea/philosophy, and then break it within minutes (like arguing with someone about their microwave or TV using X amount of electricity, only to get excited 5 minutes later about all the phish shows they're hitting next tour)

love the contrast between narrator and setting. she shows the festival through the amateur's eye who is simply not accustomed to festival reality. its done both sarcastically and realistically and then the character slightly melts as she finds her way to connect and flow and does not feel so weird anymore. this is like a bridge between industrial polluted jungle rigidity and egoless freedom of the festival jungle. thank you!

I went to a smaller version on this in the Arizona desert 3 months ago and stayed for 2 months. During the day I went to the town to do other things but at night I would head to the desert for some action. Lots of different campfire gathers drum beating and thousands of pee spots everywhere. I had my camper, so about 3 a.m., I would take off to my own spot. I was originally in that town for a gem and mineral show that starts Jan 1st and ends on Feb 28th. I didn't participate in the desert circle dancing or anything like that. I mostly observed and met a lot of people. I left about 3 weeks ago and am back home now.

Next time you need so send someone else to a place like this, it takes a openminded person to enjoy a festival like this (no offence to her)

Ya, vice has some other kind of awkward reporters, but most of them are open minded. This lady seemed like she was judging everyone the entire time. Everyone else in the video seemed to be having a great time.

Fourier89 some are for sure, most aren't. Most are just there to have a time and space to let there guards down for a while and just endulge in the moment. Something our current society doesn't endorse. If you can't do that from time to time you'll get ill. You don't have to be in that state all the time. It's ok to go about your everyday live in 'normal' society. But don't forget to log out from time to time and connect with yourself.

They chose the wrong reporter for This story

Not sure I understand all the comments...The host wasn't that rude. I found her approach an enjoyable contrast to the environment (as an unfamiliar outsider looking in), and in the end she expressed openness to the festival.

This documentary had so much potential, ya girl RUINED it.

I disagree, it's interesting to watch how a " normal " person ( considering Society's parameters ), a BCBG person ( bon chic, bon genre, sorry i haven't the english for it ) reacts in this kind of event, to watch how people there actually welcome her etc. Contrast is always a good thing ( but I admit it could be uncomfortable when you are that actual contrast )

Most of these people wakened to a different side of Life, which is connection to nature and tribal like activities. Some people May like, some dont, i call it equilibrium and freedom of choice.

I normally don't comment on videos but I am just so...frustrated. This isn't journalism. She came into the festival with a preconceived bias instead of trying to gain a objective understanding of what the event was all about. As a viewer, I wish she would've been more open minded so I could get a better understanding of what the festival was all about from the get-go. I'm glad her attitude improved the second day, at least.

i think you guys are missing the point - if she arrived at the festival ready to go the piece wouldn't be able to develop - they're showing the transformation of a city girl who was skeptical, learning over the few days she was there that being an open minded tripper may have its benefits...the only downfall of this film is they dont really bring it home too well....but yeah....sending a hippy to an island of hippies....well that wouldnt really have much room to grow would it ;)

some british like that style and i guess find that way entertaining. i think it was mostly an act on her part. i personally find the style boring and annoying but......i'd rather see a middle-aged deadhead who followed the grateful dead around for a summer or two go there and do the story. their perspective on something like this would be more interesting and enlightening to me.

Never been into a hippie festival but i do enjoy listening to ambient, psychedelic rock/space rock, acid house, trance or any music with a sensual, uplifting, chill, atmospheric, psychedelic or hypnotic vibe. The people here seem friendly and laid back. This must be a great place to have fun, relax and relieve your stress.

The best advice ALWAYS comes from two dudes in fedoras.

"Deep in the jungle" they are 50 feet away from the beach......
