There's countless stories out there of the police not turning up to stuff, what do you think we should do when on the receiving end? Should we all just say "I'm sure they're doing a brilliant job elsewhere", whilst having to put your life back together 😂 Thank the Government and general mismanagement of these services, for the failings they now have, and learn to accept its OK to have a negative opinion

so people can't have a negative opinion of the emergency services then? When did we go back to 1940s Germany, I must have missed that! Face it, there are loads of stories out there of the Police not turning up, what are affected people supposed to do? According to you, they're supposed to clap and bang saucepans I guess. The manufacturers message for drivers is that your car is safer than ever before, there are more systems working to protect you, your driving is being monitored as is the traffic around you by built in cameras and sensors, the car will react and advise you when conditions change and become ‘unsafe’. All of which adds up to drivers today being less situationally aware, more system dependant and more likely to jeopardise the safety of riders.

I used to work as a motorcycle courier/postman. I pulled up at a dual lane roundabout similar to the one in this video, waiting for a gap to go. The car stopped beside me (also waiting) went for a gap and I did not. The car behind me, seeing the first car go in the other lane, accelerated straight into the back of me, perhaps assuming I would go as well.. I was punted across the intersection, went over the back of the bike and landed heavily on my shoulder. Rotor cuff damage. Not repairable. That was 7 years ago. The police declined to turn up. Just another biker going down, probably his own fault. No ambulance called so not worth police time I guess. The elderly driver who rammed me, got away free of any charges.

How does this differ from a situation of selling your vehicle whilst not cancelling your insurance and the new owner is involved in an accident and a claim goes against your policy? If a vehicle is insured doesn't the claim go against that live policy and the insurers would them attempt to recover costs from the policy holder in a situation where the policy is invalid?

Road raging into an intentional accident should be a life driving ban. Clearly you’re not fit to be on the road if you can’t live and let live with minor inconvenience, or perceived inconvenience in most cases. That recent case of the biker being intentionally rammed over a bridge by a car, it’s attempted murder. They got 4 years prison and 4 years driving ban (really useful ban when they’re already in prison)

London, New Cross station. Amber light and people already start to cross the road on the pedestrian crossing. Managed to stop but the car behind expected me to jump the lights and rear ended me. The bike ended up stuck on the hood of a car which wedged its hood between the sit and a tire. Got off to talk to the guy and to witnesses. In the meantime the driver reversed very fast causing the bike to topple and fall to the ground. He also hit the guy behind him causing serious damage - like things were flying. He then pulled next to me and said “I’ll just park an around the corner and wait for the police”. And that’s the last we’ve seen of him. Police arrived and took the statements. My insurer called me the guy claimed his car was stolen that morning and it was not him. Thanks to my helmet camera footage and the cameras from the junction they were able to charge him. Of course the insurer tried to get me on the loan bike scam and I did agree because I did not know better at a time. They almost succeeded charging me for two months of use but when collecting their bike the driver forgot to make sure I signs the documents and could not claim the money from me. In the end gave up. My luck soon ran out though as my bike was stolen few months later. U.K. the land of never have.

That's the first thing a cop will tell you when you rear end someone is " You're supposed to maintain control of your vehicle at all times " I was involved in a rear end accident in a car where someone hit me from behind knocking me into the rear of the car in-front of me and the guy behind me got a ticket for causing an accident and I got a ticket for not maintaining control of my vehicle, and my insurance had to pay for the damage to the car in-front of me, instead of the guy that hit me paying for the damage caused to the car in-front of me.. It looks like the Audi driver wasn't sure if that was the correct exit or not, changed their mind a few times, tried to slow down to go back into the roundabout but it was too late by then, so just awkwardly stopped on the road. You can't be indecisive on the road like that - other road users rely on everyone else behaving in a predictable manner. How are they supposed to know what you will do if you YOURSELF don't know what you're doing.

Police tend to not prosecute for not stopping and reporting. I've had two instances over the years where the police traced the drivers that went into the side of my car. (One reversed into it whilst the driver was eating an icecream, and the other walked away from their vehicle and it rolled across the road into mine.) However they did not prosecute for not stopping and reporting, and in the last instance, end of 2023, the police told me that they virtually never prosecute for this. Their main interest is finding the driver so that you can get the insurance details. In the earlier case I had to rely on witnesses, and on the later case video from a shop. I think this probably comes down to cost, and in many cases where the CPS is involved the time, cost and other resources makes it unworkable. The down side is that many will think if they don't stop and report they will get away with it. The old pull up suddenly in front scam, to claim of your insurance, has never really had validity. I had somebody try it on me decades ago and wanted my insurance details, he was a foreigner, as I had hit him, though no real damage. I asked for his insurance details, as he had overtaken me, and pulled immediately in front and jammed on his bakes, and in the circumstances the "you hit me, your fault" doesn't stand up. At which point he didn't want to produce anything and sped off.

I got a £20K pay out for a car hitting the rear of my bike. He had a black box and they phoned him after the collision to see if he needed assistance, They told him the impact speed and he told it to me in his anxiety. That made all the difference. 37mph impact speed. Always check is my advice. Yes it hurt

I had this exact thing happen to me on a on ramp of a freeway. Right as I'm getting ready to accelerate to freeway speeds NIGE slams on his brakes and I hit him. He gave me $300 cash on the spot. He said he thought he was entering the wrong way against traffic🤔🙄

A long time ago a car pulled onto a roundabout and as it was clear I followed, she slammed her breaks on almost immediately and I was the one at fault apparently, its was a very very slight shunt as my reactions were good, yet she got pay-outs for her and her daughters apparent whiplash and I was of course at fault. Funny how they believed them over me right, another time (again a loong time ago), a car turned onto the road I was on which was narrow at this point, I accelerated and turned as far left as I could to try and avoid them, they still scraped my car, but yet again they put the blame on me despite me walking down and explaining it to the insurers investigator. The only time they sided with me was when a woman admitted blame immediately after hitting me up the rear while I was at a standstill. Discrimination against the young male driver I believe the first two were, total BS!

A car 2 cars in front of my wife on a slip road pulled up suddenly. The car in front of my mrs ran into the back of it, my wife stopped and the car behind hit my mrs and pushed it into the car in front. 4 cars involved. My wife's car was written off. The 1st car was a BMW with 4 Polish guys and non could speak English. This happened at rush hour on M60 in Manchester. The police were involved.

I don’t know why but I can feel there are increasingly more incompetent drivers on the road. I even saw some bellend the other day merging into A3 in unreasonably low speed, like 40mph, while attempting to change 2 lanes in a row to the middle lane without checking mirror and indicating, and all lanes in front of his car were empty so it made no sense to change lane at all. I was doing 70mph in the middle lane to avoid merging vehicle, yet still had to took evasive action because of his stupid move.

Oof that's a tough hit. Fkn audi's. At least this one managed to find it's blinker but probably that's why it passed the proper exit. It wasn't clear to me on the picture. It looked like he had to extend first to grab the brakes. I'm not saying he's to blame but I would consider it a cautionary tale to keep a finger or two on the brakes in that kind of close following riding. He might not have had such a terrible injury. Thanks for another legal lesson!
