It is not a sad day. Maybe it is a sad day for this fleshly dimension we are in because we humans can't take her for granted anymore. Delores earned her wings. She is with God now. She does not have the burden, to carry the stressful heavy load, to perform for billions of fleshly greedy pests which is the Human Race. She earned her wings.... a spot in God's Choir. I want to be good in Earth so I can earn my wings and have front row seats to God Heavenly Choir too.

The lyrics to "Why" have turned out to be more painful after her demise. It feels like she is singing to us from up there. Each time I hear those words, tears roll down. Miss you Dolores. Rest in peace.

Artists like Dolores only come along once in a persons lifetime. Dolores was the beautiful singer with the amazing voice that came along in my lifetime. I feel eternally grateful I heard that voice... i just wished you had stayed longer. Rest with the angels Dolores !

For my grandparents generation I consider that person (in the acting profession) to be James Dean if there has to be only one person. A singer who fits your description would be Buddy Holly and for my parents generation there was Karen Carpenter (for whom Dolores covered the song Close to you). I know there are others I could name but I'm trying to keep it at one.

Just today I've known that she died, I was searching for her best of, I can t stop crying. I remember her on 1996 when I was listening to her album faithful departed, I was young and thanks to her I loved to learn English because I loved too much her music and her angelic voice. RIP ( I fell in love her album's songs : "Joe", "Cordel", "will you remember", "forever yellow skies" and "Bosnia")

Since I was 12 I have been listening The Cranberries ( now I'm 35). I remember her energy in all the concerts, she was amazing. For me, a lot of memories and emotions are attached to this band. I am really sad...

She reminds me of a couple fond early childhood memories of my parents. With my mother it's watching you've got mail (dreams), with my father is was hanging out with his girlfriend who bore a strong resemblance in looks and personality to Dolores Oriordan. Plus Dolores O'riordan reminds me of charlize theron in mighty Joe young and as a character who looked like Dolores Oriordan in another movie (I didn't know that was Charlize Theron or even the name of the movie until yesterday). Thanks to her good memories of the 90s that were stored away are coming back and it's bittersweet.

Such a significant song to her and anyone who has fucked up in life. Forgiveness is the key. Beautiful.

We feel close to this band because it's simple, accessible, the guitar riffs aren't too complicated and then there's Dolores. Her voice, her beauty.... bring us closer to her. Simple yet evocative lyrics, polished and sincere. There's a shortage of bands like this.
