Actually, there is music like this today - kinda evolved ;) But it's mainly in the realm of metal (atmospheric gothic/doom, to be more precise). I strongly recommend TREES OF ETERNITY and ALEAH STANBRIDGE albums (even her demo while briefly in a project named THAT WHICH REMAINS, only available here on KZread). I dare to name THE GATHERING during the ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN era as their singer ('Mandylion' and 'Nighttime Birds' are strikingly in the same vein of this very song), and even early LACUNA COIL with 'Unleashed Memories' as a prime example (even up to 'Comalies' there are some similarities, guitar-wise). Another one is ANATHEMA, from 'Alternative 4' onwards ('Fragile Dreams', 'Are You There?'). Finally, if more heavy sounds (and some guttural vocals, a.k.a. 'growls') don't refrain you, I would entirely suggest DRACONIAN, SWALLOW THE SUN... even SATURNUS.

Same. Brings me tears when I hear this & I just wish so much that we could bring her back!!! I miss her as if I personally knew her, like family! I was so obsessed with her I listened to Cranberries on loop for years so that probably made me feel like I knew her well. She lives on in our hearts & our ears! 🌼💛🌼

The Cranberries music will live forever and will continue to touch the hearts many!

I listend to so many song and I didn't find my favorite Until salvation and... Sadly a criminally underrated, and undiscovered, song for way too many folks who probably need this steel in their lives. BRAVA, Dolores, and thank you so very much.

This is such a powerful song. It captures so many feelings, from hope to sorrow, from loneliness to freedom. I love how Dolores sings about a person who's been through a lot and has decided to live in peace with themselves, but never forgetting the past.

Feel very same.. great 90’s.. would go back again.. I was only 15 years old when I was listening the cranberries and I loved it.. it does defo brings nostalgia..

The Cranberries helped me deal with sooo many hard days of my life. I sang their songs at the top of my lungs feeling everything. I still do.

I still lament this daffodil's death and every time I listen to this song, I can't help but drop everything and find myself teary and smiling towards the end of it. I am beyond grateful for having to listen to such an impeccable voice. This song is an artwork. I'll always be a fan.

This blessed daffodil left so many daffodils behind, swaying to the gentle breeze of Life, fanning them. And the daffodils look lovely today.

I heard this song back in 1994 when I was only 7 years old and since then I became your fan, thank you Cranberries, thank you Dolores for a lifetime of memories with your music.

Nice to see these scenes of the group together enjoying each other’s company and making these masterpieces.

Such a beautiful song. I remember when I first introduced her music to my first unborn daughter, and after she was born, I would play The Cranberries and sing along to my precious one. I even had a crib tape player and turned it on for both of my daughters to help calm and sleep. RIP Dolores as your voice still lives on.

Crazy. My mother did the same thing. And here I am 25 years later in this comment section with my mother nearing her deathbed. Thanks to you for introducing your kids to the Cranberries, and thanks to mine for introducing them to me. I hope I can only do the same for my children so that they'll always know their grandmother, even if they never meet her.

I did the same with my daughter, and at this moment I am laying with my granddaughters listening to this entire album, as we do every night they stay with me. This, however, is my favorite song.

This archive footage is fantastic and the song has ALWAYS been a favorite :-) Nice to see how the band are honoring their legacy.

It’s hard to not tear up. I truely miss and thank of her all the time. She was an incredible artist and is greatly missed.

this was my year 3 teacher's favourite song. I wish I could see her now and let her know that I'm a massive Cranberries fan lol. Thanks Liz for being an awesome teacher!

This album helped me through high school. Delores' outlook on the world expressed my fears, my sadness, but also my optimism. I miss her outlook on the world.

I know tis song since my childoo in mid 90s but this song helped me through the divorce from my psychologically abusive ex wife almost 7 years ago. The most chilling part which speaks to my soul is when the tone shifts and she sings "I have decided to leave you forever" This is how i felt when i finally made the descission. The silence before that is like the hard time before making that descision. This is easily my favorite Cranberries song. I love you Dolores, wherever you may be now...

the ending is more chilling than ever...

In 1994 when i heard this i was a 10 year old boy. I was horribly beaten and Dolores amazing voice was a beacon for me in the dark. This song was so full of power and strength. Music saved me. It still does. 26 years later heading into 2021 and still feeling the strength in her voice, even though she is gone.

Delores Reardon.....( speechless) I had zombie BLASTING through my mom's house at 7am the day of my graduation ceremony..lol...all my cousins spent the Night to attend my ceremony the next morning...a special memory❤ The energy and boldness of their sound...complimented my pivotal day💥🤍🤟🏾✌🏽🙏🏽

🖤 And her body left us, forever. And her soul stayed in those lovely daffodils and every single singular and wild flower that grows on the roads, reminding us her voice, advising us how to be authentic and genuine. This is just an outstanding work, thank you so much.

A big problem with being human is that try as you may to suppress it, a human being feels what she feels. We don't get to control that. And if our other mechanisms if thought, industry, socialization fail -then we are left alone with our feelings, because they never really go away. And often that is too much to bare.

I will always remember the feeling when I heard this song for the first time… it was elementary school. Loved the voice, the lyrics… and that outro which I later learned it’s actually begging of a song “Electric blue eyes” … Takes me back to some bitterness but also to enjoyable sadness as a kid. This will be always my no1 song.

I used to listen to this on gorgeously empty bright cold winter afternoons. I was depressed for a long time, I found comfort in this. Anyway, after 13yrs the daffodils finally look lovely today!
