I have a 1976 CJ-5 jeep I am restoring. It had factory stock brakes and it has 12.50X35 tires on it. The braking was difficult to get it stopped. I took it to the shop and told them i wanted power brakes so they installed a power brake booster. There was a marginal improvement in stopping power but still inadequate. It should be able to slide the tires on pavement but I cannot get it to do it.....just not enough power. The Jeep has disk brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear. I think they are factory stock (?). I have been looking at your Hydro stop system and am wondering if this system would give the stopping power I am looking for without more additional brake parts? Just before I had the power brake booster installed I had the engine rebuilt with a low end high tork cam. I need to know if I need to get a brake kit that has larger diameter discs ? or will the hydro boost be okay just as a stand alone without getting a kit with the larger discs ?
