When I first read the ayat, I shook my head. When I heard the explanation from Ustaz NAK, I facepalm very hard. What a stubborn bunch of people they were. That's a lesson for us muslims not to ask stupid questions whenever it comes to the regulations of Allah. Ask relevant questions, no problem, but not stupid ones. Thanks Ustaz NAK.

Knowledge is like Rizq, not everyone gets it, not everyone can be a scholar. Allah gives different provisions to whomsoever He wills.

Surat Albaqara, the specific story of the cow and everything about the jews in the Quran in general is not to pick on them. It's to teach us not to do like they did. But it's the reality of life. Many people, muslims or non-Muslims still behave as such. May Allah make us of those who listen, internalize, and behave accordingly in the best way.

I think the ayats with their context makes a lot of sense now because when you read the translation in English it misses a lot of the context and details - May Allah provide the Muslim ummah more ulemas like Nouman- Masha Allah very interesting tafseer

I am Muslim alhamdullilah born in Muslim family. I differs in opinion that I shud not think about logic. There is no unlogical in Islam. There is reason for everything but need brilliant mind to find it. I believe and follow even i dont know the logic I still believe. Yes, they are so illiterate about Quran. Right here on KZread, you can find who is who of Ayyatullah reading Quran and making mistakes, even on Fatiha. They spend 50 years learning Donkey narration from his Donkey father and leave Quran. They don't have a Single Authentic Chained Narration to Prophet SAW. What a waste.

Yup

If we look in the old agypt tellings we saw that they belive in cows. Those cows aren't used for work and don't slaughtered. Can that be that sura al bakara tells us the stroy of the right god. They kill their god for to find Allah? And gives us the takeaway that we do the same, regardless what the 'cow' in our life is. ? That's my thoughts about this sura. ❤

@Noumanalikhan what i think about these verses makes me surprised. Allah concludes this passage on تكتمون and we have understood in geberally as the Bani Israel wanted to hide the murderer but as Ustadh said in the end where did they get the cow? At a farm, where do we get that? No eveidence! Why not take a cue from quran itself. They had to get a cow, young cow who had neither ploughed land nor used for irrigating lands. Is it possible that a young cow, without any problem could be sitting idle and that too in thise times?? Strange isnt it? So i thought since they said to Moses that tou are joking, maybe its cue to tge fact they thought moses was still poking them for that incident when they took the calf as an idol. So the germs of that Apostasy hadn't gone away completely as Allah says they were made to drink the love of the calf for their ill doingings. I have therefore this opinion that they had that cow somewehere hidden from Moses and contemplation on the passage might reveal that Allah wished to reveal the murdered, simultaneously revealing their hypocritic nature. Since they had some esteem of calf against the esteem for Allah, they would not make a cow, they considered a diety, to work!

Is this extension of the Quranic story, that it's about some solving of murder, in the Quran anywhere? Not that I know of. Israeliyyat is going to confuse and dilute the point. Because their questions are like the people who love to look outside the Quran for more details. In the end Allah leads it to impossibility.

In the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Allah said in the Qur'an "And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."" (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 67)

You have to wonder, is this the same red heifer that's currently being talked about in the news? That the Israelis today are trying to slaughter? There are so many parallels in the story in the Qur'an with what they believe today, but just slight differences. For example, the cow they're looking to slaughter today is brilliant RED rather than yellow. It still has to be unblemished, completely in it's colour, without ever having worked, being middle aged. The ceremony as Allah described it was to find out who committed the murder (which could in essence be purifying them of their sin of murder as they can put the perp on trial) but the Israelis today need to to purify themselves for worship. And what is impurity according to them? Being in the same place as a dead person i.e. a graveyard, hospital or even direct contact. They consider most people to be impure and unable to pray until the ashes of this cow purify them.
