I loved hearing the subway! I was born and grew up in Vienna until the late 80s. It was so different then, just to find good fabrics in Vienna was almost impossible. So I started to make my own “prints” by painting on silk. Then I took apart thrifted jackets for the pattern and started to sew. Badly. Really embarrassingly badly. However, the magazine “Brigitte”and the “Kronen Zeitung” heard about my jackets and wrote about me. Before I knew anything about patterns, cutting or sewing, my painted silk jackets were sold in two stores in the first district. I am so happy to see how much Vienna has changed since I left. From fashion shows to companies like Schnittbogen, it seems so much more cosmopolitan and open minded towards fashion and fashion designers, way better then then I could have dreamed it then. The respect for handwork from long ago and that it is taught by people like you is the best part, really beautiful. 😊😊😊

@Monah Li thank you for your insight and beautiful words! Wow, you are very creative and talented, having your work appreciated in the press and sold in stores, it's a great achievement! Yes indeed, there are fashion platforms, agencies, talented artists and creators, shops and ateliers. Finding good fabrics is still not very easy but in the past years the options have been growing... the good thing is that two companies are coming from Italy and Germany twice a year on a steady basis. They present hundreds of samples. Otherwise, I would travel to purchase what I need, especially wool and lace. Sending you many regards and creative energy, from my atelier! ❤️
