We've got 4 or 5 of the Survival first aid kits of various sizes between the house and the cars and they are a great bit of kit, so clearly laid out. I'm often trekking through the bush and various abandoned places with my 3 and 5 year old and we NEVER forget the snake bite kit, to me everything else is negotiable.

The clarity and step-by-step guidance provided in the video made it easy for me to understand and remember the necessary actions to take in the event of a snake bite. This content is a fantastic resource that can save lives. It's essential that more people have access to this type of information, especially as most of your viewers are living in an area where encounters with snakes are not uncommon.

That is one of the best video on treating snake bites I've ever seen. Really clear instructions, simple explanation of the mechanism that venom moves through the body, excellent bandage application info for the bandage to be effective and top notch and clear reasons why immobilisation is king.. I reckon you have saved some lives there guys, just with this video let alone the kits you have put together. Very hard to point out what bit of info is the most helpful...it was all excellent. If I have to choose its the pressure to apply to the bandage. Maybe that part about Australian snakes being defensive...I don't know - this was worth every millisecond of my time.

I thought it was very useful information that's why I pushed for several years to organise the video. But unfortunately people just aren't enjoying it & it's not getting any reach on KZread. I thought this video could help so many people & they did such a fantastic job explaining everything

The most helpful info I got was correctly stretching the bandage and aiming at the making the rectangles into squares on the bandage with 5ml overlap... lose the rings and watches and tightly rolled sleeves... and use a splint! Thanks for this. Travelling the loop around oz and saved this to my 1st Aid vids! Craig you're a legend and Mike, Love the kit 🙂

I've got a few of these bandages, as well as the RFDS big kit, and the dedicated snake bite kit. I'm not scared of snakes, I'm just prepared because I live on the edge of the bush and I like to spend a lot of time in the bush. Anyone planning on going bush walking should have at least one of those bandages in their pocket or pack.

I think the survival first aids kits are really well done. The kits are well organised and clearly show what item is where. Aside from the practical demonstration I think the best piece of advise was to actually practice with the equipment. I had never seen the splint unrolled so was good to see how it is used.

This video was well worth it, I rarely see snakes where I camp, but all the information they gave was spot on. Some people say that staying still the snakes still attacks you and hardly goes away. Been looking at the snake bite kits as I don't have one yet but will come in handy to learn how to use one just in case a family member gets bitten or someone else that don't have a kit on them.

What a great video for anyone who gets out bush! I found the whole method of applying the bandage most informative, from beginning loosely, to stretching the bandage into squares and not overlapping it too much. The stretch to square smart bandage is amazing, but I also love that splint!

This video is a very clear explanation and demonstration of how to treat a snake bit. I have learned how to treat snake bites in very many first aid courses over many decades, and things have changed dramatically in that time! Hopefully this video will help keep those most at risk up to date and safer. Thank you!

Hey guys awesome informative video, there’s just not enough content on snake bite first aid. Myself and my wife just returned from a 7600 km road trip to the Flinders Ranges and it’s just starting to warm up and the snake were surprisingly active. I wish I had seen this video before we went. I find snakes fascinating but we’re shit scared of them. Thanks for the video cheers

Some great information in this and something we all need to know. I have Snake Bite Bandages in both my vehicle and hiking first aid kits and a splint given to me by the guys at Survival in my hiking kit. One thing I have always been told that wasn't mentioned though is to mark the bite site with a permanent marker. I was told to do this so they can cut the bandage in that section, swab it to identify the snake and not have to remove the full bandage. Also some good information about the Strike Range and how to avoid being bitten. Personally I wear what ever when going on bush walks and hikes, I hate wearing jeans though as I feel the restrict my movement so I generally wear cargo pants or cargo shorts. I have very rarely seen a snake and when I have they have more so been around camp than on a walk.

We were interested to learn about the compression techniques and THANKYOU for the bandage that helps us know when we’ve got it right. A great pressie for all the family!

Great info on this one guys. Most interesting to know that the venom is actually carried through the lymphatic system initially before the blood stream so staying as still as possible is so important. I just learnt something today 👍

Great video guys and very informative. The smart bandage is such a good idea, and I'm sure will help people correctly tend to a snake bite in the heat of the moment. One thing you said which I think is equally important as a snake bite kit, is to make sure you have means of communication for worse case scenario. I rolled the dice for a few years not having any EPIRB or sos device and it's unsafe and a horrible feeling in the back of my mind. I do a lot of bushwalking, fishing, and kayaking year round and always carry two compression bandages in my general first aid but I think a decent kit like this is much more ideal. Especially this time of year where I live in FNQ, I often come across snakes quite a lot near rivers and creeks. Taipans put the wind up me I tell you what. Cheers guys 👍🏻🐍

Great information, I go bush quite a bit and am always cautious but not scared. Always thought the venom was transferred through the blood stream and not the lymphatic system so would have put the bandage on so tight that it impacted blood flow. Glad I watched your video.

Great video - thanks for making it. I do love snakes but I also have had a Survival First Aid Snake Kit from the first time I was aware of Survival First Aid making them. I also have (and have gifted) the Dog First Aid kit too! This is a really useful video as actually seeing how to apply the components in the kit is so much better than all the words and even diagrams used to describe how to do it! PS: Obviously as I already have the kit no need to include me in the giveaway. 🙂

Great video. So much good information, it's hard to pick. Great to learn about the strike zone. I would have thought there was a bigger area covered which I expect would make me panic. So good to know. Question though. Can you use this snake bite kit in a fracture incident? Would save carrying two kits.

I would assume you could use the split but I wouldn't apply much pressure with the bandage as you'd get a lot of inflammation around the fracture. But don't take my word for it. I'm not a professional lol. I'd suggest contacting survival first aid directly through instagram 👍

The kit is perfect for snake bite, fracture, major bleed and sprain. It is all we personally have with us on a hike. The big kit is left in the car and anything else can be dealt with later. The intention of the kit is to buy you time before medical help can get to you.
