The Corona Chop! - Finishing the Chop on my 27 Model T

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Looks like we're all going to have some free time on our hands with this damn Corona virus, so I figured I'd try to make the best of it! A full 8 hours of cutting, welding and grinding but the chop top is now a little more permanent. I'm extremely happy with how it turned out! Every day I work with these old cars, I increase my metal working skills and I love it! Hope you guys enjoy the video and stay safe out there!

1960 ford mk2 zodiac with mk2 ford capri roof and windscreen making it a pillarless two door hardtop. The car was built In 1992 and was well known on the UK custom scene. I bought it around 10 months ago, so far its been a pig of a thing due to previous owners bodges. It appears that the guy who originally built it did good work but the last couple of owners were clueless. Small block ford v8 had one of the head gaskets on backwards and was cooked before I bought it, so I built a 347 cubic inch motor with a stroker crank, its got a mk5 cortina front suspension subframe in it with weedy little solid brake discs so I'm in the process of fitting big discs and brembo calipers off of a peugeot 406 coupe to it at the moment, then cut apart and re make the long tube headers for more ground clearance. Then sort out the auto gearshifter which some idiot had attached the cable inner to the gearbox selector lever and the cable outer to the gearbox crossmember. So everytime the engine rocked it was pulling on the lever. Found that out during cam break in when it tried to put itself into reverse.....

Well isn't that coming along sweet! I'm for a louvered sun visor ,but main thought is being able to see traffic lights with low visor.Years ago some Model A people cut 3 inch or so diameter holes in predetermined spots on there visors .Don't know if it was one of those KOOL for the times things or it was practical too! Try it whatever way you want ..drive it... and change if you want to. As for us we'll be puttering around at home .When I can I may plunk together some random Model A sheet metal body panels to just make sumpthin' outta nuthin'.

Beaumont paint job with some satin clear coat... keep it mean looking just slightly night-ish :-)) Forget the flat head thang... but maybe get some nice headers and wrap them or keep them black. Main thing is, watch your pedal space and how much room you allow for your legs and for those three pedals. Factory Five when they made up their punch or drop dyes for the bodies made them a wee bit wider as people were shorter and with tiny feet when those cars were originally built. So maybe extend the pedal linkage passed the wider part of the transmission tunnel so you can clutch normal. lol Sit far back and pedal like a more normal human set up. Eight ball for a shift knob? lol Sweet! Maybe get some rear fenders or even a couple of front fenders so you can mount some big-ass headlights with those torpedo shape. Maybe from a mid thirties car [early 30's Fords, Chevies.. or make some weird cone jobs for yourself :-)) Be a growling night crawler car in the end. Sweet! Love this build!

louvered visor to match trunk, but concerned being able to see under / around the visor. Fun part, watching parts slide off the cowl and louvered trunk in fast video mode. Cameo of Dani was cute

Cut a roof with sunroof out of car junk yard replace on top rack weld than complete on door nor because the way you cut it cut down lines and close area around cuts and wel togesther make even on cut areas not bad love your 1955 pretty cool close door and weld shut until so doesn't tilt or swaying need subframe on bottom than roll cage support roof and side on roll cage looking good

Your visor is definitely a visibility problem but way too cool to change. You could go with a tinted clear plastic. Kinda like the showy gassers might have. Lookin good. Thanks for sharing
