To be fair, Mary was staying at her moms when this happened. George only knew his truck was gone because Mary saw the truck was gone and went to the house because she thought George was gone. How did Missy drive off without her Dad noticing or hearing it? Perhaps too many beers?

Telling Missy they don't want her seeing Paige again is basically telling us she will see her again. Probably the dumbest thing you can tell a rebellious teenager because it just means she'll be seeing them secretly without any adult supervision.

Honestly, THE most iconic sibling dynamic - the oldest who is either the biggest screwup and disappointment, OR the substitute parent (there is no in-between) the child that the parents baby, because they’re paranoid after all the mistakes they made with the first one, and the one that everyone thinks can take care of themselves, so they mostly ignore once the diapers come off. Tale as old as the concept of the sibling.

Definitely. George is due for his destined fatal heart attack by the end of the season as we all know. I think the only other time a sitcom father ever died was on "Good Times" when the actor playing the part actually died unless we count the father of Archie Bunker's niece Stephanie although he wasn't a main character. A number of sitcoms have had fathers who died prior to the first episode of course like "The Partridge Family", "The Lucy Show", "Alice", or "Phyllis" and a number of sitcoms have had widowed fathers like "Andy Griffith" or "The Courtship of Eddie's Father" but the only sitcom where the sitcom wife died after appearing in early seasons that I can think of was "The Danny Thomas Show" when the actress playing her quit the show unless we count Edith Bunker. Comedy writers normally don't like to kill off characters on a sitcom.

TV seasons let's recall always span two years in our time since they start in the Fall and end in the Spring of the next year like school years.

So far as I recall Missy only had one kid a boy whom Sheldon helped deliver and was staying with his father whom Missy had broken up with when Missy went to Sheldon's wedding

What a both coincidence and sad realization at 3:19 when George says “Over my dead body” and Mary says “Yeah that is exactly how it’s going to end”. RIP George Cooper

One of the best scenes this season. Ian has finally nailed how to play Sheldon at 13, without going to extremes on the jerky movements .

It's amazing how Sheldon made that Map i feel he cares for Missy

Watching this after the finale and hearing George say "Over My Dead Body" with Mary responding "that's exactly how it's going to end" is just...... ouch

George is great at taking credit for Missy's accomplishments, like throwing a baseball, but quick to blame Missy for any problems even remotely connected to her. Ick!

I watch this show. Sheldon and mother are very broken people. They feed off each other. The father is a good man, saddled with a tormented wife. The daughter and the older son are nice, competent and decent people.

Well this is a situation comedy of course but I agree. It always makes you smile to listen to his bizarre way of thinking because it's like an elaborate Rube Goldberg invention making everything way more complex than necessary in order to accomplish things there are much simpler ways to do which simply wouldn't occur to him. Instead of talking to Missy and asking her why she ran away he'd prefer to hook her up to a brain scanner. He wants his parents to let him use electroshock therapy on her but can't understand why Meemaw gave him a swat on the backside without using a Star Trek episode to explain it to him by analogy. His narcistic vanity makes it almost impossible for him to ever admit he might be wrong about anything.

@@WolfshotPlayz I am sure he was..... I just think the ideas he had in this episodes were wrong.....actually I found it almost a bit inconsistent with his character....

Mary is just too focused on Sheldon and Sheldon doesn't care how because of him his other two siblings are completely ignored.

After this season- The only characters I like are Georgie and Meemaw. I stan Missy though and ❤❤❤❤her acting. George gets on my last nerve and Mary has barely developed at all except to become more toothless. Georgie continues to surprise me with his even keeled grace under fire.
