    We hear the 15% cooler claim from Azek frequently, but in our tests...that's never been the case. There doesn't seem to be a notable difference in surface temp between capped composite versus PVC...it comes down to colour in our tests. However, as you mentioned, PVC does cool off immediately once in the shade or when it gets wet.

    Biased towards their master - Azek. Bottom line is wood is cooler in the sun. Let's be real.

    Yes but it also requires far more maintenance, is not resistant to common pests, and is a pain in the ass to install (accounting for expanding/contracting, picky about hardware, etc.).
