If it really is over for the Switch, I’ll honestly be sad. Nintendo yet again, proved that you don’t need power to make great games. The Switch’s lifespan is without a doubt Nintendo’s golden age. And with the lack of a direct this month, it’s starting to seem like Nintendo is finally moving on. Sure, we still have 15 days left of February, but for three whole years in a row, Nintendo has made a direct in early February. So it wouldn’t make sense if they made one now, especially with all of the shadow drops.

It'd be funny if the day after this video came out Nintendo reveals their February direct

The argument that if Nintendo first party games run great then we don't need a Switch successor is stupid. If that was true then we'd still have Wii level power.

Yeah 4K isn't even really noticable on most TVs and is mostly there for marketing because 4K sounds like a much bigger leap than 1440p

I agree with you Demeech, we really don't need a switch 2. Just keep giving us more games. Though I hope we do get a february direct, and have it be a main one!

I bet myself if we do get the switch 2 or pro This month or later in March I'm going to force myself to play poppy playtime live. (It's basically that one indie horror games that scares people and I basically have the best jumpscare reaction, yeah im basically Luigi when it comes to the horror games)

The PS5 is halfway through it's life cycle. It's possible that the next generation console starting with the Switch 2 will come out either late 2024 or as early of 2025.

Nintendo has shown me to expect the unexpected. I'm pretty content right now, just impatient cuz' I want news on TTYD, and I want March 22nd to hurry up because I want to play Princess Peach: Showtime! so badly! I do want to see the Switch get its own original Donkey Kong game before it's time is up. And in terms of the 3D games we have Super Mario Odyssey and Kirby and The Forgotten Land, I am confident we could see a stunningly beautiful and well optimized DK game on the Switch's hardware. I think it would be the ideal swan song for the system, that started with Zelda and ends with DK.

I doubt the Switch will end within this year. Maybe in 2030, but definitely not this year.

I think the next console will launch in 2027 on the Switch's 10th anniversary

if it goes all the way to march with no direct, that would be the first in a long time. March also was the month where the switch direct is.

I honestly dont think Nintendo is a hurry for new hardware the switch still selling well also people keep treating rumors as facts when theres no evidence what so ever i personally tired of people acting its happening. But constantly being wrong id rather just wait for Nintendo to say something.

As a Mario fan, the movie succeeding was enough of a win for me. That, and Super Mario RPG being physically released.

I don’t think it’s the end just yet

I dont care if the switch 2 is 4k. I just want every game to run at a smooth 60fps

Dude, that's not gonna happen at all. PS5 and xbox series x/s still have some games that run at 30 fps.

that's not something you can garantee console wide tho. To run at 60fps the game itself has to be optimised for it

Even after all that I'm still on Team 2027 it's not ready yet and still people expected to come in 2025 it's nuts😵‍💫

Saying the system isn't coming this year, because they have games anounced already is stupid. Then you say ,,but with the switch it was different. They didnt know, if the switch would succeed". Why would they think any different, when with the 3ds/Wii U -> Switch it was a completly new consol and Switch -> Switch 2 just being an upgrade? The Switch 2 is coming soon and I'm sure its this years fall / early winter. Give it Mario Kart, 3d Mario and new Animal Crossing and its good to go.
