*UPDATE*
Since making this video, some new residence halls have been added onto SDSU's campus (Zura, Toltec, Terastec, etc.). I don't have a lot of information on these dorms, but if you google the name of the dorm (ex. "SDSU Zura"), the SDSU Housing website is fairly helpful!

    Hey! My name is Molly and I'm considering SDSU for this fall. I've been obsessively looking at dorm videos and while this was by far the most informative video, I have still been freaking out completely. If you wouldn't mind answering just 3 questions, I would be forever grateful and will finally be able to take a deep breath. Okay, here goes. 1) Out of just the residence DORMS (such as Maya, Olmeca, Tenochta, etc.) which would you say is the nicest? 2) Which would you say is the least strict on visitors, as far as checking in visitors and having a limit on visitors and whatnot? 3) I know that this year, due to the Zura rooms being renovated, the Tenochta dorms are squished and the doubles are all triples, and the students are still paying for a double but are actually in a triple. Do you know/have you heard if the Tenochta dorms will be back to actual doubles this fall now that the Zura dorms will be completely new and open this fall? (PS, have you seen the Zura dorms and are they nice?) THANK YOU SO MUCH if you do get around to answering this it would mean the absolute world to me wow. Your videos are awesome

    Very nice, I liked UT. I don't think you can change the curtains on the windows. At least, not very easily. But it might be possible. And yes, you can put curtains up on the closets (a lot of people do). SOME rooms have actual doors, but I think most of them do not.

  • @AlexanderSaleen

    @AlexanderSaleen

    10 жыл бұрын

    You are completely correct. It's a double room connected to another double room by a bathroom (toilet & shower). There's a community kitchen downstairs though, if you really want to cook. It is a little bit farther, that's true. It's still technically "on campus" though.

  • @AlexanderSaleen

    You're welcome. :) I probably would've chose to live in Granada, because my friends lived there last year, and it was soo nice. It isn't too far from everything, and the entire complex is still relatively new. I think living in normal dorm rooms make it easier to meet people, but you'll have a bunch of floormates, so you'll still get the chance.

    @AlexanderSaleen

    Madie Reeder Honestly, most upperclassmen don't live on campus, but if you were trying to to get involved, it might be a good idea? There are a million apartment complexes located around campus, so it's kind of just up to how much you want to spend, how close to campus you want to be, and if you want roommates. An alternative would be living in a house? Maybe renting a room!

    trinity fuentes The dorms all cost the same, but the price of your housing is going to decrease depending on how many people you share the room with. So for example, singles are going to be more expensive than triples. And I think Zura is going to be really nice! They're just finishing renovations.

    Edwin Reyes I really liked living in University Towers. It was nice not having to share a bathroom with the entire floor. But I think Granada is going to be nice too.

    This is like 3 weeks late, so I'm sorry, but I think my overall high school GPA was somewhere around a 3.85. I think it depends on what major you apply for as well.

    do transfer students have separate dorms from incoming freshman?

  • @AlexanderSaleen

    @AlexanderSaleen

    10 жыл бұрын

    In the past, transfer students have usually been put in separate dorms from the freshmen. But my freshman year, I had two 21 year old transfers on my floor, mixed with 46 freshmen. So it isn't 100% guaranteed you'll be in a transfer-only building.

    Question: How does the school determine in what building your going to live?

  • @AlexanderSaleen

    @AlexanderSaleen

    You tell them your preference on the amount of roommates you want to have (fewer roommates means a more expensive lease) and if you want to be on any "themed" floors (exercising, exploring San Diego, LGBT, etc.), and then SDSU pretty much decides for you. They use your preferences as a suggestion, essentially.

  • @AlexanderSaleen

    Unfortunately not. The ceilings are too low and the bed frames aren't made to be stacked. But there is lot of space in those rooms, so I wouldn't be too stressed.

    That building was actually added to the SDSU residence hall system after I made this video, so couldn't include it. I'm sorry! I don't know much about it, but I can tell you it's apartment style living, similar (but not as new) to Granada.

  • @mel1994258

    All dorms party, but typically Cuic is known for it because the layout, it's easier to have more people in the room. No freshman has ever lived in the Granada before but I would also make a good guess that will also be a party dorm because of the layout.
