In this video I outline my top tips for how to get a 7 in Maths HL for IB students. I talk about what to do during classes to be as productive as possible, how to study effectively, important topics to focus on, and how to revise.I myself finished the IB programme earlier this spring and received a 7 in Maths HL, and thus comes form an IB perspective.
I work for a large online tutoring corporation but have in recent times decided to do some online private tutoring myself for a fraction of the price. I help students with their studies and with their IAs.
My subjects and grades were:
English A LangLit HL: 6
Swedish A Lit SL: 7
History HL: 7
Economics SL: 7
Physics SL: 7
Mathematics HL: 7

There are video lessons available online , there's a website called revision village and it also has past paper solutions and various amazing questions and besides that if you google a problem there will atleast be one website which has the solution and there are books too

Hi, this year I have gotten all 7 ns and 6 xes. I have though gotten one 2 in one of my exams. Do you think I will make it in HL maths for year 10? Note that I always do my work, never get in trouble and always follow my teacher. I asked my teacher if I could get into it and he said if I keep on working hard I will. I worked very hard… regarding my grades. Do u think I will get into HL maths for year 10?

Wow Marco you sound like a very diligent student. Even though I'm not your teacher, I think you will definitely get in. I had a similar experience where I sucked at Math in high school and my teacher told me that I can only do AI SL... but through my hard work I was able to survive in AA SL with rather good grades. Starting Math HL in grade 10, you already have more time than most IB students to study the content. Keep up with the hard work!!

@@syndeywong4673 thanks ! do you think I should ask my teacher to put me in HL or just wait... i calculated my average and its a 6 so technically I cannot enter HL as the minimum grade in the report should be a 7. I already asked him in the past about it so I don't wanna sound too pushy or inpatient. What do u think I should do? have a nice day :D

@@Marco-wb4dd Hi again! It seems like your school has rly strict rules about putting you into SL or HL for Math. I dont know how it works at your school specifically, but I think you can ask yourself the following questions and try explaining them to your teacher: 1. Why do you want to take HL math so badly? Is it because of your uni requirements for your major? 2. Why is it that you got a 2 for that particular assessment? Is it because it was an HL topic (like vectors or matrices), or was it because of other reasons (e.g. you were sick/not feeling well). 3. This is not a question but try asking your teacher if its possible for you to have a "taster" class to see if you can catch up with the HL content. I really do admire your ambition, aiming for HL math (it is a very hard IB subject). But if you can't get in, many unis accept AA SL as well, even for science subjects. Or another alternative is to take A levels/AP math on top of IB (if your school rly just doesnt allow you to take HL math). I've heard some students fulfilling their math requirements using other curriculum (like A levels and AP) even though they mainly did IB. Try talking to your math teacher/uni counselor about that. Above are just my thoughts, keep in mind that im not a teacher nor a professional. I hope it helped you in some ways :)
