@88 That's how it is now. At the start of the series, Marleyans weren't a literary factor. Titans were an enemy, still. They were active, living things that preyed on humans. Humanity wanted to survive outside the walls, and the titans actively opposed that goal. They were the original antagonists, thus enemies.

It's honestly quite poorly written from a literary perspective. A lot of the time the twists are very jarring and its almost as though they've been piled on rather than built in retrospect with other aspects of the story. A good twist is usually a result of two or more elements of the story not previously linked tied together by a plot element. However in AOT often the twists just introduce a new element to the story, a new form of plot, or a new McGuffin to power the plot forward. The worst example I can think of is Eren finding the 'Armor' bottle in the Crystal cave, but the whole system of people becoming Titans, eating someone with Titan powers, and gaining those powers, was really crudely introduced and mainly with flashbacks- which is just another example of poor story-telling. AOT is fun and unique, but it's not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination.

I like how you yada-yada'd almost the entirety of the present events established in the current three seasons of the anime. "Eren plugged up the wall, they captured Annie, defeated Rod Reiss, yada yada yada then they got to the basement." Ha, it's just kind of funny. It makes sense considering most of this series is just following the characters through this narrow strip of time as they constantly uncover bits and pieces of the past and what happened before to make things how they are now.

I think the placement of Armin's parents' death may be incorrect. Armin was being cared for by his Grandfather when the wall fell, I thought. That would mean that Armin's parents died before the wall fell, not after or during the fall of Wall Maria.

I thought the same thing. I thought that maybe his parents tried to escape when he was still very little (he never talks about his parents, or mentions how he misses them, so i'm assuming this happened when he was too young to remember). So his granddad is all family member he knows. His granddad also hid the book from him, maybe scared that armin would start obsessing over it like his parents and try to escape as well. Also i'm sure that his parents would have told him about the outside world, instead of him reading it in a book, so i don't think they were alive by that time.

I think it's different in the anime and the manga I think in the manga they go outside and die whenever there is a mission to get back wall Maria which is really just to get rid of the food shortage. In the anime go I think they died before wall Maria Falls because they were interested to go out in the outside world and they were devoured by Titans then.

Interesting. I think Ymir Fritz is the real villain of AoT. With science, she discovered how to transform animals to humans (eldians), and how to transform them in titans (in times of war). More than often characters of AoT refer to titans like they are animals, even in the last manga chapter. And also the opening of Season 2 was a big hint. And that picture at 2:19 Is also a hint, where are the deers now? And titans are acting like animals, like the titan you saw in the last episode of Season 3 was acting like a snail. When she created the serum to transform animals to humans/titans she also infused her DNA with that, I'll later explain why. What is the motive of Ymir? Humans were destroying the places where animals live (like in the real world), and she wanted them to fight back. I think Ymir was attacked a couple of times fighting a big war, that is why she created the Ackermans. She knew she would die sometime so she, as a mad scientist would do, transformed herself into a titan and later she splitted herself in 9 titan shifers. The 9 titan shifters represents important parts of her body, hair (beast titan), skin (attack titan), muscles (Colossus titan) her posture (female titan), nails and teeth (jaw titan), cartilage (warhammer titan) and her nervous system (founding titan, can control the other parts/titans and memories -brains are just a bunch of nerves-, and the paths looks also like nerves). Her main goal is to live forever/reincarnate, that will happen when one person inherit the power of the 9 titans shifters. Ymir could control the titans, because a part of the titans is a part of her (because she infused her DNA in the serum). That is why you need HER DNA (in the anime this is called "royal blood") to control the titans. The 145 king disagreed with Ymir and put the eldians (former animals) in a cage, I mean behind the walls. That is why the wall titans are facing inside the wall instead of outside. His goal is to keep the eldians behind the walls. I think he forced the Eldians to Paradis Island.

Do you remember that in season 2 Reiner, Bertolt and Eren were sitting on a branch of a large tree. Below them you saw a large titan that lay and there were a few small titans. The big titan is a hippopotamus and those little titans represents the birds who always sit on a hippopotamus (oxpeckers).

I think you're reading too far into things that don't exist. It doesn't say anywhere that she created the serum. The Ackerman's weren't her doing either. Check the latest chapter. Notice when she heals Zeke and Eren that she is portrayed as a young, battered, slave girl. It's more likely that this role was forced upon her (as it was for young Ymir later), but her narrative was rewritten to be an oppressive force (by Marley) and a goddess (by Eldia). Notice how those are both adults with a purpose. I don't know if this have been brought up already but i was thinking, as eren krueger already have shown when he talks about armin and mikasa, memories from the future can be seen or heard or whatever, they exist even if they don't (confusing yeah), so i was reading the chapters again, and the first one is called: "to you, 2000 years from now". we know about the paths and we know about these time travelling memories, so thinking about the first chapter name, which looks like a message to someone in the past or future, i think that this is mention of a message from ymir, who lived roughly 2000 years prior shingeki no kyojin events, to someone (maybe eren). Now what kind of message it is will remain a mystery for now, but given eren's situation on last chapter, maybe ymir should pay a visit

do another video with the end of the timeline being "eren and zeke introduce the power of titan to ymir" and then it does a circle back to ymir 2000 years earlier
