He was not actually written out, his voice actor has just stepped down, also Matt Groeing and the team said that they are going to bring him back and is said that in season 34.

I just realised that the Springfield Highs Institute of Technology would be shortened down to 'SHIT'. That is beautiful 😂

I love Apu. He's such a fun, well-rounded, and surprisingly developed background character. I understand why they retired his character, but I really wish they had just recast him to be voiced by someone of Indian descent. Anyway, great video.

I mean Willy lives in a damn shack, is an alcoholic, stupid, and eats rats...and you don't see us getting our panties in a bunch. There's also Mob boss fat Tony and Chef Luigi who stereotype Italians. Cletus who stereotypes Southerners (they made him incestuous for God's sake lol), Bumble bee man, and so many more. The show is a cartoon based on stereotypes...thats what makes it great.

The thing is people like you are mad because he has an Indian accent and works at a convenience store and say tHaTS a sTerEOtyPe. Stop whining because most people in the Simpsons are stereotypes and its not like Apu is a one note character and his only trait is Indian he has a personality but since people with brain of a 4 year old complained an actual good character may be gone forever. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Apu is actually one of my favorite Simpsons characters. He's hardworking, intelligent, and thoughtful. I didn't like the fact that he changed after he became a father . Manjula turned into a shrew, and he became miserable having to raise all those kids.

About time Apu got some love! The whole controversy with his character is ridiculous, he is not a 2 dimensional stereotype. Throughout the series he has a fairly detailed story arc, and is a better developed and deeper character than A LOT of his live-action counterparts from series and films.

I have always enjoy Apu he was a great side character

Theres still no point in getting rid of apu. As an indian guy who got a ton of racist jokes from others in relation to apu, I quickly realized that the issue was people being ignorant not apu as a character. There is nothing wrong with stereotypes so long as the character that represents them is more than those stereotypes, apu was clearly more than his stereotypes. I was always going to teased for being a different race to my peers, apu's presence didnt matter in that reality.

I think it would be really cool if you did a timeline for Santa's little helper or maybe even snowball

Yay I've waited so long for apus timeline. He was my favorite character outside the Simpson's family.

"That is a great dishonor to my ancestors and my gods. But okay!" Life of Apu.

Apu was the best Simpson character ever. Hank Azaria made him a literal household name. I'm sorry people thought he was stereotyping Indian people, but Hank Azaria is a voice actor. It's his job to come up with different voices. Yes, he may have based the voice off of ill means, but at a product of the 80s/90s, it wasn't uncommon. I watched the Simpsons because the antics that Apu got up too were hilarious. He carried the show and had some of the best character development.

Barney, Principal Skinner(the fake one), Chalmers, Edna Krabappel, and Patty, and Selma could be good timelines to do next.

I had nothing but respect for Apu growing up. Hardworking, compassionate, and above all a good friend. Even though he had an affair after he broke it off Apu worked hard to win back his wife's love and trust, and that's rare to find in people nowadays.

Being kept in the hall of heads must mean he accomplished something huge. My theory: apocalyptic war, all hope seems lost until the Kwik-E army arose. His descendants, octuplets upon octuplets. Wave after wave. They reclaimed the planet from like aliens or whatever. So fierce was his bloodline, his head was preserved.

doesn't make sense for that to be his head because you can see he turned grey when he was old and the head looks younger than he does before he was old

Remember though the heads are locked to a specific time. When you drink the fluid in the jar, you get taken back to sometime when the head was famous. When the Futurama crew drank the fluid in George Washington's head jar, they went back to the American revolution, decades before Washington died.

Simpsorama put a big wrench in the equation, but Futurama was conceived as being a wholly separate canon from The Simpsons, and both shows referenced each other as fictional series within their own shows. That head in a jar is pretty off-model for Apu, too.
