Glad you're switching to the fine coconut or "coco coir" It's way better for them, easier to dig in and holds humidity better.

Hi I have a baby box turtle and he has not eaten in probably six months and I am not sure why I have seen him drink multiple times but not eat

@@3toedboxturtles no but I have tried live mealworms but he is only the size of a half dollar so I'm not sure if he could eat a love cricket

@@j4y_37_____3 it took my babies months to eat too. I just kept trying different foods until they started eating. First it was sweet potatoes and then crickets. They should have small crickets at the store. They like crickets because it's a challenge for them to catch them because of how fast they can move. Be patient and don't give up!

Try mazuri aquatic turtle diet my Eastern box turtle loves it I started feeding it to her after she stopped eating the other stuff I was feeding her you got to mix it up for them give them variety

So im 2 minutes into this video and here is everything I've already seen wrong (Alot) Everyone PLEASE do much more research before getting ANY pet. 1. This set is WAY to small, 40 gallan is bot big enough at all box turtles need at least 120 gallon 2. Heat and UVB should always be on the same side of the enclosure right next to each other. 3. This person is using a coal UVB, absolutely never use coal bulbs for almost any reptile they do barley anything, always get a strip light. 4. They are not using the correct watt of UVB seeing as they have a zoomed bulb it needs to be 10.0 no less 5. Turtles do not enjoy being in glass enclosures, they are roaming animals and do not understand why they can see farther out but not get there and they will spend there entire life trying to explore what they can see but not go to 6. The water dish looks to small turtles need to be able to completely submerge in there water dish 7. They are using the wrong type of substrate, they type they are using could cause impaction if ingested, use eco earth fine Edit i kept watching they did more wrong.....also i was right the water dish is 100% to small, but im glad they changed substrate 8. Absolutely under no circumstances EVER do not use a heating pad! It is extremely dangerous! Many turtles have been known to die/ cook to death from heating pads

He shouldn't be in glass. He needs a proper enclosure

This is horrible advice for box turtles the enclosure is way too small for one

I think your just thinking of eastern box turtles because there what most people think of when they hear box turtle and those are usually bigger since he is giving correct information

This is a pretty badly unsuited Box Turtle enclosure, I would never keep on like this
