When ultra distance runners Ryan Sandes, Kane Reilly and André Gie came to scout the George 6 Peaks FKT route they were greeted by a bustling trail running community which exceeded even their expectations. George is fast becoming a mecca for trail runners and is attracting runners from far and wide and it's not hard to see why.

Andre has been drawn to cycling ever since his 26" gripshift Wheeler hit some sweet Stellenbosch singletrack back in 2009, and he's never look backed. He has been on both sides of the handlebar, first as a semi-pro MTB rider and then as a creative pursuing a career working for one of the biggest bicycle manufacturers in SA followed by starting his own media company in 2016. He's filmed and edited mountain bike videos for various brands including Giant Bicycles, Industry Nine and even for an airline as part of a two man crew that flew to the 2nd most remote island to shoot a MTB film for Airlink (watch it here: • Mountain Biking One Of... ).
