The MacMac It's renowned to have a good finish rate.
The 100 mile had 26 Enterys and 19 DNF
The recent flu passing around is the main reason.
The first section of the course (71km) was more like an obstacle course.
with trees lying across the trail and had to crawl through them.
That was exciting and fun moving with agile speed through the valleys and over the mountains with Kyle Lotter
We kept our position in the top ten. And definitely did not run past the beer at the checkpoints. Except we stayed a bit longer when we saw Elof having a party by himself on top of a mountain. With that mother varker 🐽
We were on such a high with our good progress, just to find ourselves on the wrong side of a mountain. ( Back track up to MacMac Hut and start over)
We made up good time with the Sabi loop of 37km
After MacMac Hut, my energy levels dropped. With the toughest section of the course, lying ahead.
It was difficult to tell Kile to go ahead without me.
At least I had the toughest section of the course ahead of me to regain my strength at my own pace.
1km Before Stable Hut, I found a nice patch of grass.
With the extra kmś I pause my activity at. 135km
There are so many beautiful trails in the country. With life happening, it is difficult to do a trial more than once.
MacMac is just one of those.
And l've got a score to settle.
When a group of people doing such extreme sports come together, they become family.
We were quite a few KZread and race directors on the same race.
For the love of the sport, thank you to everyone involved.
