i have fished there and i can tell you the fishing is fantastic. I almost caught one that would have weighed at least 50 lbs. Unfortunately it got off the hook right at the edge of the water and ran away as fast as its 6 legs could carry it. and its 3rd eye was staring at me as it disappeared over the horizon.

Hey JIMMY TATE well I had a run in with your one that got away and I'd like to report the gal has gained about 10 pounds and has 2 additional feet another set of 3 eyes and well dont know how to put it it's a new momma. Yes sir I hooked into her and asi it walked up to me asking for some pliers it managed two words and then a single sentence that made no sense until today reading your comment. "Wheres Jimmy" it said then noticing I could not speak and about to throw up it jumped and spun 180 degrees and moonwalking back to the water it muttered "baby needs its daddy" and the last thing I saw was 2 3rd eyes going underwater over the horizon. So I guess congrats are in order it's a squidbaby.

Problem is they restrict the rivers from flowing on their own & that restriction is goung to throw it out of balance!!!

All rivers silt up and change course. Just look at any river on a overhead map.

Americans have been rightly proud of the way that their engineering has tamed their world and made it more productive. But so often there are consequences. Too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing. Whether it is the overuse of water, coal, oil or the disposal of wastes there are serious consequences that accompany our activities. Yet we are unable to control anything. Political stagnation at work.

nunyer beeznaz - When the EPA dynamited the Colorado Copper Mine a few years back it blew a hole underneath the river bed and dumped tons of copper into the Colorado River and the results are what you see today ... just Google it and you can see for yourself. This was a pristine waterway and all it took was one accident to make it this way forever!

The fishing is insane. So many fish in the lagoon you can practically walk on the water. I'm lying. Don't come here and bother the 8.5 lb bass that lives at the bottom of my stairs.

Also, no information about the septic systems used by all those houses along the water. Methinks that had more to do with the death of the man-made river than the narrator let on, and perhaps was the reason the powers-that-be decided to isolate what may have become an open septic lagoon.The Colorado River supplies drinking water to lots of people.

Methinks you are so wrong .... They did a study here, about 99%.9 percent of the poop in the water comes from birds, fish, and the farms that use poop for fertilizer by the truckloads just upstream. It California, so keep using the field to grow grain for Saudi Arabia and cotton for the rag trade, and we'll just move off the lagoon and move to a cubby hole in the city where we can walk to our mugging and our poop will disappear like magic without an ecological effect.

The Colorado River in Texas is the original Colorado River. The one in CO and CA was originally named the Grand River, as in the Grand Canyon, but back in the 30s some idiot senator from CO got the named changed in Congress.
