The Coldest Capital City in the World | First Impressions of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia 🇲🇳| Part 1

Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia and has the distinction of being the world's coldest capital city, with temperatures dropping to -30°F during the winter. After flying with Mongolia's flag carrier, MIAT Mongolian Airlines, we decided to spend a few days in and around the capital to see what it was like. I once played tennis with a young man from Mongolia here in Pasadena, California. He was easily the most well-mannered man I've ever met in my entire life. I believe it's a Mongolian thing.

Kudos to both of you for going out in the very cold weather and finding interesting places to visit. Hopefully, you will be able to visit Mongolia again when it's a warmer season. I have seen several videos of foreign visitors staying overnight in a traditional yurt and observing some Mongolian contests involving horses. Mongolians have a reputation of being quite friendly to visitors. Would like to hear your thoughts about that.

January and February is the coldest month in Mongolia. 2 days ago, on feb 21st, the coldest temperature since Feb of 1960 was recorded, and even broke a record in some provinces reaching -48C. Last few days were freezing in Ulaanbaatar reaching -42C in the early morning, -30C in the day.
