A definite yes to both “Charlie Brown” and “Along Came Jones.”

You can bet the members of the Beatles were listening to music like this when they were lads. No question about it.

Along Came Jones, Charlie Brown, Shoppin' For Clothes, Riot In Cell Block Number 9, and many others. You can't go wrong with The Coasters.

This and so many other fun novelties were the backdrop of so many afternoons listening to cheap transistor radios

I was lucky enough to grow up with an older brother who loved all music from all genres and decades (probably as far back as the 40s). He spent just about all his free time finding new music and making mix tapes (probably 1000s over his lifetime). We had mix tapes for everything. Road trips, family reunions, holidays, birthdays..tuesdays lol all of the days, really. Later he graduated to ipods which he would load with songs we liked or he thought we'd like based on our musical interests and give them as presants at Christmas or birthdays. Anyway, I remember this particular song from a summer road trip with the family - all of us singing along (I think Yakety Yak came on right after lol). I've since lost my brother to cancer, so this was a particularly welcome and lovely memory to happen on again. Thanks, Harri :)

I’m on day 13 of a bad case of poison ivy. I’ve been singing this song in my head for the last two weeks 😂
