I am a longtime teacher and administrator DO NOT SUPPORT THESE CURRICULA IN OUR SCHOOLS. PARENTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RAISE THEIR CHILDREN IN ACCORDANCE TO THE QURAN AND ALLAH'S WORD. ​@@ObsidianWintersMost Islamic schools get grants and funding from the government. When that happens, there are requirements of what must be taught in "private" Islamic schools.

Wonderful and intelligent conversation, such a privilege to have such smart and articulate Muslims in our community with the courage to speak out not only for themselves but for others who are too afraid to and for the future generations.

I haven't checked in this account for a while but I'm glad to see this topic being addressed. I'm concerned for my high school age niece and young nephew who both go to school in the US. I already heard of my niece being involved in some club at school that sounded like it promoted this and it was very concerning. The problem is it's difficult to borderline dangerous to speak up on topics like this. You're automatically labeled a "hater" "bigot" "cancelled" whatever. Anyone who has spoken out against it has been accused of "discrimination" and lost their jobs, businesses, etc. It's not just in the US either, it seems like the entire western world is like this now. I read an article about Justin Trudeau saying that any Muslim parents living in Canada defying the school districts teaching their children this are doing it because they're aligned with the far right. It's disturbing that the leader of a country would automatically make ignorant and dangerous accusations like this, especially when it only stokes more Islamophobia.

Schools were originally intended to educate people and cultivate knowledge about the world, but they have now become institutions that can undermine people's morale. We living in an end times indeed. Thank you for this podcast. I live in MD and this is very concerning to me and has made me rethink how I vote in local elections. I think it is important to find common ground with people who will help promote our similar interests and it is very important to partner with religious conservatives to push back against this agenda in our schools. However, let's not discount the work of groups such as SPLC. Moms for Liberty does have extremist elements and they actively promote Islamaphobes such as Katharine Gorka. Again, no problem with working with individuals who have the same goal no matter their religion, but let's be wary of organizations such as Moms for Liberty, and don't discount the important work of SPLC.

This and another video posted on Omar Suleiman's personal page are the videos that convinced me to not become Muslim and to stop looking for faith altogether (Christian, Muslim, or otherwise). I wish I could say I feel relieved, but that implies a sense of release, liberation, or even happiness. I don't know what I feel, honestly. Resignation, I suppose. Sadness. I wanted it. What I do know is that, down the very marrow of my bones, we all deserve the right to exist, to be educated in all the different types of people there are. That you speak of "ideology" like it's some master conspiracy to make weirdos and perverts but the reality is much different - we just want to be accepted. We want dignity. I don't think I can get that in Christianity. Or Islam. Or Judaism. Or anything else, frankly. No all-loving and merciful god would ever behave this way. I know no one will likely read this comment or it will get deleted, but here is one thing I will say, and this comes from a lot of experience and hard-earned wisdom from my personal life: The folks you ally yourselves with in this "gender ideology" fight will come for Muslims eventually. I promise you. You're little more than a convenient, temporary ally. It will not garner acceptance, you will not become "the good ones."

I remember when aicha RA was having conversations and conferences with the sahaba and her husband pbuh talking about how to educate the young generations, while she had no face covering n she looked young and attractive, i have yaqeeen that this scenario happened.
