    Just to clarify, Its not the clover falling from the sky but a satellite at the end of the movie. This was confirmed by Abrams. Hopefully the God particle, which is set in space will tie the anthology series together nicely! Happy New Year guys :)

    andy howard I was in a similar experience I was preparing for deployment and a couple of friends and I went to see transformers. The trailer starts with what seems to be a simple party. And explosion happens and people rush outside. Instantly I think that this has to be a movie about terrorism or something along those lines. Then you see the Statue of Liberty’s head Fly around the corner like a perfect major-league baseball curveball and land at the feet of this group of people. I was not prepared and was completely thrown off! I was so excited I could not move! Then as the screen faded to black all that was written in bold was 1-18-08. I don’t think I will ever forget that day my boys and I talked about that more than the Transformers movie!

    Clover field is one of my favorite movies ever. When I put myself in the shoes of one of the Characters I imagine it being a horrifying experience. Yet it’s about as realistic as something like that could be which makes it that much scarier! It’s simply the best in my opinion.

  • @Freelancer837

    @Freelancer837

    6 жыл бұрын

    That's the thing, this is a realistic case of a monster on the scale of Clover attacking, bu the characters do some stupid things, just for plot reasons. Like how Hudson is never able to hold the camera still enough to focus on the monster, but the one time he does is the only time he's within dangerous vicinity of the monster and gets eaten. Or how a digital camera has pieces of of previous tapes cutting in and out, as if it was a VHS recording. Don't get me wrong though, I do love this movie.

  • @kenwhite4098

    @kenwhite4098

    6 жыл бұрын

    Freelancer837 I didn’t even think about the fact that the camera was digital. I thought it was just one of those small cameras that still used tape. But in all honesty I think that the shakiness of the camera is exactly what I needed to stay into the movie. There is no way anyone would be able to hold the camera steady in that situation. Fear would cause you to shake, Nerves would cause you to shake, movement would cause you to shake, the shear stress of the entire situation would have you completely on edge! The final scene was a little conveniently steady which was inconsistent with the rest of the film but I really wanted a clear shot anyway so I was willing to except. Also I found a lot of things they did fairly acceptable depending on The situation. My best friend thinks that it’s incredibly stupid and a fools errand to go look for a loved one in a building across town during a monster attack. He would assume her death and decide to just give her a nice memorial or something. I am of the opinion that if you are in love with this person you should do what you can to save their life. The movie was just so much fun to me.

  • @Freelancer837

    @Freelancer837

    6 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, that is correct that it's not surprising it was completely shaky when a lot of the time they were running and terrified of what was going on. I mean I physically can't hold a camera steady on a regular day so I can't complain. And I can always get over a character doing something stupid in a horror movie (unless it's something over the top, like dropping your weapon after using it once, or tripping over nothing, etc.) but in a scary moment in this kind of film, you have only just a moment to make a decision, and with all the fear you have, that could easily cause you to make irrational decisions.

If I happen to get it on camera in the first minute then woo other than that it gets dropped and left. If you think about it this movie provoked people filming what goes on instead of helping

    3 years late, but I friggin love this film. The trilogy so far, Cloverfield, 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox are all amazing. The first film really shows you how it happened, and the second showed the reaction of people who barely knew anything. The last one is my favourite though. It shows how the scientists at the space station caused it, merging dimensions which caused the monsters to appear. The plot line is amazing, and I can’t wait for another film in the series.

    All in all, Clover was an innocent animal, an infant scared and aggravated by an equally scared race. Like us, it didnt understand what was happening around it, clearly not showing any evil intent, just it's own safety. Call it a monster all you want, but it is merely another lifeform following the mere steps an animal would take if it were cornered.

    Film Comics, I would like to thank you. I saw this video about 7-8 months ago and since then this has changed my life for the better. After watching this I went and watched the first Cloverfield. Then I dove deep into the lore. Then I watched the other two and I found and entire community on reddit for this. So I joined. 6 months later I am a leader of multiple Cloverfield servers, a subreddit mod and this movie got me into ARGs and I am currently creating ARGs. The actual explanation was given in the 3rd movie - basically some scientists did some physics related experiments in space and caused dimensional tears that resulted in Clover coming from another dimension and ending up in the ocean. It also caused the aliens in 10 Cloverfield Lane to show up in our dimension as well.

Japanese authors tend to make their stories over-the-top to the point where the story doesn't make sense and loses its actually telling in the process... like how they believed the cloverfield monster is a god and they need to perform a stupid ritual or w.e to tame it? Because it needed a human vessel...

    First, I loved 'Cloverfield'. It was a great revisit of 'Godzilla', but from a more contemporary 9/11 found footage hand held perspective of people on the NYC streets. And the monster design was totally off the wall. I hated how people then wanted explanations of where it came from. I preferred the original feel of it just being totally random. And it doesn't matter what Jar Jar Abrams said, unless that manifests itself in other films, which it never did. '10 Cloverfield Lane' and 'Cloverfield Paradox' ('God Particle') were really just their own movies with some Cloverfield-ish stuff tacked on at the end. They were both kind of OK, but stuffing them into another franchise's canon is just a money grab.

    I saw the movie in a theatre and loved it! It made me feel like I was there. I think many people that do not like it, would have loved it if they were able to view it on a very very large screen.

    I haven't seen Cloverfield in a really long time but, I remember at the end of the movie they show a clip of the couple from before and you can see something fall from the sky... I'm gonna have to watch this movie again now.

    You want to know why the camera work was so crap? Because it was being held by a man who was experiencing all of this first-hand. I would have the same shaking problem if the place I lived in was attacked by a giant monster.

    I don't know why but I loved this movie. All the other "in universe" films were super lame though. I loved how little of the clover monster they showed. A masterclass in keeping just enough from the audience that it kept them guessing and not bored from not knowing anything, or knowing too much.
