It's weird how Yularen voice is the narrator for the show. He wasn't a evil man but the fact is he joined the empire. He might believe the empire was doing the right thing but no way he could have been comfortable with the tactics of the Tarkin doctrine.

Well... since Boba Fett was brought to life in the Mandalorian despite being declared KiA in RotJ by Lucas... who said this can't be done with Yularen as well... especially considering the fact that last time he was seen in The New Hope was when he was about to enter a lift on the DS... BEFORE Han, Luke and Chewie made mess in the prison level trying to rescue Leia... My personal theory is that he managed to left Death Star and was on route to meet with the fleet which was supposedly become a screen one for the station... when Tarkin ordered full speed chase after Falcon didn't even bothering to wait for the escort... That's why station was alone above Yavin... but imagine how that battle would went off if (supposed to be) Yularen's screen fleet would be present too... that would be a Game Over for the rebelion... since Stardestroyers would stall long enough Alliance fighters for the station to reach lock on and fire its main superlaser on Yavin IV...

Yularen, a good officer in both the republic and the empire. The only imperial I know that treat non-humans as people And had nothing but respect to thrawn.

1:42 The bit when Yularen finds out trench is alive and commanding the blockade is just so unnerving. The music makes it almost scary as well.

This man showed Great Integrity, He has a great service record and he got close to Anakin. I see why Vader kept him around and he was bumped up to Colonel and Director of the ISB A Navy man turned Army but still perceived.

The Stealth clone pilot was badass

Thanks to Admiral Yularen at least we figured out who’s our enemy commanding officer in this bloody space battle right fellow Star Wars fans!

Wasn’t this their first mission together? Anakin must’ve been recently promoted to knight before this, giving him enough time to get prestige to command the 501st and grow out his hair Edit: so a few months after the war began

Can someone explain what Anakin meant by “if I know my military history wasn’t he killed in the battle of Malastare Narrows” and Yularen talking like he served in another fleet that went up against Trench? This episode takes place before TCW pilot movie, which happened somewhere between 4-8 weeks after Attack of the Clones. So were Trench and Yularen involved in some non Clone War related skirmish?

Before the clone wars the republic did not have an army yet nor a navy so the battle may of happened just a few short weeks after the clone wars began remember that most battles were only small skirmishes so since the battle of malostar narrows is mentioned as military history the battle must of been quite significant like yhe first and second battle of geonosis or the battle of corosaunt to be remembered by everyone

Think of it like the Battle of Naboo. It was a one of skirmish that wasn't part of any bigger war with a similar corporate fleet blockading a planet. But unlike Naboo, there might've been a fleet from a neighboring planet with Malestare that heard the call and were willing to lend a hand.

2:29 was this battle before the clone wars? This is the first episode of the show chronologically so it’s weird to call recent events history unless it was before the clone wars. It’s a throw away line, but yet again so was the concept of the clone wars lol

might have been before because Yularen was in random planetary defence forces earlier

Obi wan is wrong it is not always more important to save lives than destroy ships because if you win the war fast then you wouldn't be wasting time trying to save lives and would maybe save more anyway in the future.

For some reason, it's bizarre to me that this is the earliest point in the timeline shown in TCW.

He joined the Empire as a colonel of the ISB. He died on the Death Star- you can see him in the conference room in Episode IV.
