Got my first 112 about 35 years ago. To me it was the perfect size knife for most of my chores, hunting and fishing. Own a lot of knives. Benchmade, case, puma, buck.have carried them all but always come back to the 112. I have 8 different models. The pro model is my everyday carry.i have gutted fish and cleaned deer n hogs .it rides good in a pocket or on the belt. After buying thousands of dollars worth of knives I always come back to the 112

Thanks for your post. I've had a Buck 110 for over 5 years. Recently I picked up a new Buck 112 Ranger with a new leather sheath. This is a favorite knife of mine now.

I love all my 112 knives. They are tough as nails.
You can also send it in to Buck for a brand new blade for thier forever warranty and $10 will get your a polished brass and new blade, but that is nice what you did.
Neat to see the older blade has no nail nick. Dont see that too often now. Great video, thanks!

Thanks for watching! I like the classic knives, "nothing beats the classics" :)
I kind of like the flat grind of the old style blade, it looks and feels more solid, I wish they hadn't switched to hollow grind.
Great job on the Bucks my friend. I don't think I have ever seen the Buck 112 that I can remember. Now you got me on another quest. Lol. A Buck 112 and a leather sheath.

BluegrassBushcraft they are great knives for sure . For me, they are just the right size!
I love the Buck 112 pocket knives, personally I like the 112 better than the 110 because of size mainly. The 112 is my second favorite lockback I own, my favorite is the Bear MGC Lockback of that size.

Great review of the classic Buck 112. I have the light version that is a nice piece. Thank you for showing it to me.
Hello Knife Detector it is Mark from Blades & More! I love those Buck knives and the classic 112. I see they are currently really pushing the modern 112 slims. I subbed to your channel and liked this video so please keep these videos coming!

Hi! Thanks for subscribing! I have been meaning to get my hands on one of those slims. I have a Buck 422, I do like it, but it's way too light for me, and i like the feeling of knowing that it's there if you know what I mean. That being said..... I still want one, so I will be on the look out :) Thanks again, and God bless.

Yes I also have a few of the older lightweight Buck plastic handle models that were not terribly impressive so it makes me a little hesitant to hit the button on the new 112 Slim but it is on my want list and I have to try it sooner or later because of all of the recent hype and the decent reviews. It is great that it is made in the USA and I am a full supporter of that fact but I wonder if they have been able to compete for the $28 with some of the other imported brands?
I have a ridiculous story to share. I loved 112. It was costly for me. I kept buying compensation design but my thirst won't quench. I finally bought 112 classic. In the end I spent more money than it might initially had cost me. Morale:- Spend wisely ;)

Field dressed my last deer with one of these. Best knife I own.
I have a 112 - one dot on the left and two on the right - manufacture date 1980-1981. I can't recall where and/or who I got it from, but my best guess is my (now deceased) step Grandpa - who was a wonderful man. Maybe as a high school graduation gift (1982). I didn't appreciate knives like this back then, but I sure do now. Mine's seen some pretty good use, but is still very functional - and with the original leather sheath.

That is a fantastic memory. Knives are meant to be used, they aren't just tools you can use with your hands, but they are also conversation starters, and tools that you can use to to connect with new friends or reconnect with a cherished memory from our past. God Bless!

It's not sold at every harwware or box store. I had to do a location search. I got my bottle at a rent-all store. I left out that it also good on wood. and it's not cheap. A 16 oz. bottle cost $20 with tax. Read about it and you to may think it's worth the cost.
That arrow pointing left symbol indicates that it is a 1986 build!!
Just got a buck 112 ,a question is it normal that when the blade is closed, the tip sticks up a very tiny bit ,you can cut your finger on it ,what do you think its my first buck knife ?
@KnifeDetector
Жыл бұрын
Not normal, it may have been re-tipped by a previous user, or there is an obstruction in the inside underneath the blade when closed.
Better the 'finger groove' version to be collected.

Las Buck 112 navajas se venden por 55 dolares Americanos en Amazon. Vienen con funda incluyido. Yo no estoy vendiendo la millas porque me gustan mucho :)
I don't know why you buy a used knife on ebay. Looking around here in Canada I found it for $65 CAD which is already cheaper than USA by alot, free shipping, taxes paid. BTW for the last six months every single thing I look up is cheaper here in Canada then United States even stuff that's made in the USA. I'm 70 years old and it's the first time in my life regular everyday stuff is cheaper here in Canada than USA I think it has to do with your trade War. Plus this one comes with the leather sheath

Yeah James, I bought my 110 from The Home Depot because they beat the competition by 10%. That ended up saving me $43 from what they wanted for the finger groove model. I love comparison shopping. It ended up being $91.50 for a beast of a knife. 👌
