The Cinema of Lars Von Trier | Video Essay
Lars von Trier is one of the most controversial directors who is known for his abstract expressionism and fearless decisions in terms of storytelling. His movies reflect a different form of cinema that surely makes the audience uncomfortable but at the same time compels to take a deep dive and understand the true meaning of what the visuals are trying to convey.
This video essay is an attempt to celebrate the cinema of Lars von Trier by talking about how his filmography has introduced a new dimension of storytelling.

@@LongLiveCinema You're welcome. Although I haven't done a video presentation on KZread about Lars von Trier and his work, I did get to write a blog post about him. It covers his work relationship between Lars von Trier and Björk and it presents extensive documentation from various sources (Catherine Deneuve film diaries, dance choreographer/director Vincent Paterson's autobiography, the documentary 100 eyes, and various interviews Björk and Lars did). It is over 20 000 words long, but details really well what happened between them and it debunks various remarks and declarations she has told about Lars in the media. Indeed, the more I did research regarding the behind-the-scenes over Dancer In The Dark, the more it is evident that Lars was not the problem on the set and that Björk was the problematic individual. And when you do research on Björk's life, you realize that although she is a talented composer and excellent actress on Dancer in the Dark, she is nevertheless a Queen Bee who has an infamous history of vomiting lies for opportunism or out of revenge. And that she has done it as well on other individuals who stood up to her (ex-boyfriend Matthew Barney, Bangkok airport reporter.) Here is the link if you are interested: omnesoasis.wordpress.com/2019/02/24/lars-von-trier-and-bjork-editorial-informative-paper-on-the-working-relationship-of-those-two-artists/ Thank you for taking the time in doing this youtube video. Very kind of you. Have a nice weekend. Sincerely, Simon

Honestly I liked Depression tribology! But was doubting myself of being sick or abnormal but I did understood his motive behind all these films... All these three films are very philosophical in nature which can be easily misinterpreted but is deep... especially in Antichrist where sex has been portrayed as a sin and those biblical dialogues between them.. that seems very controversial but actually deep...and not to be taken literally... scriptures are written in a coded language never to be understood literally and factually like in Science....those biblical text can be best understood after understanding Advait Vedanta and Upanishads... It just means that the Brahm (the real existential self) by obtaining knowledge i.e expansion of consciousness in the form of sensory world forgets that he himself has projected it and tries to find his identity in this dual pole world ( Observer and the Observed) Which has been described as Knowledge leading to root cause of all sin in biblical texts!

That nympho movie just dragged on. I watched for Stellan, but even his role was blah. I couldnt finish part 2. Waste of time.
