The Church Of What's Happening Now:

Joey Diaz talks with Lee Syatt about an emotional topic, suicide. From Chris Cornell to Anthony Bourdain, we have lost a lot of people who (from an outsiders perspective) appeared to have perfect lives. Joey and with Lee discuss how Joey has coped with similar issues and feelings in his life and why he believes his techniques have worked for him.

Hey guys, this I George from North Carolina! I live for these types of podcast. I'm a Marine Corps veteran 2000-2008, I have the gambit of PTSD, bipolar, depression, addition, brain damage, the list is long. This is some real stuff you two are speaking. I hope you two understand how positively impacting your show is for a guys like me! I have been listening for over three years to you and Joey rogan. Over the course of that time I have turned full circle. I was heavly into paikillers(2004-2018)but have recently quit. I'm still addicted but don't use like before. I see myself in a lot of what you speak, some good ,some bad. Never the less, it feels nice to know I'm not alone. I can always intendify with like-minded Brothers as yourself! Im in your church and your singing to the choir. Thank you. George Benfield!!

This is the perfect opportunity to say THANKS to my lil bother, Uncle Joey, Lee and Theo Von! I suffer from depression it's not a joke. A couple of months ago I considered leaving this earth. I have no reason to I'm self employed have ppl who care about me but just felt hopeless and like a failure none of the exercises was working to get me through this. I had my cocktail ready and the date and time planned. Than I saw Uncle Joey on "This is not happening" I haven't laughed that hard in months. So than I googled Uncle Joey and found the podcast. I one of the episodes with Theo on it and I now watch his podcast. I totally relate to all 3 of you I finally found a since of belonging and I felt Uncle Joey when he said something is missing and he realize it was music. A light bulb went off. I've been playing music that has brought good memories and my bother calls me everyday to check on me. If anyone has any thoughts of the dark arts(in Theo's voice) seek help or talk to a close friend. As for those that said they wish they was dead in the original post. Keep your head up the members of the church love you.

The irony of the Joey reading ads later on for betterhealth. They charge too much. I just come to church with you soldiers and I’m better. This one really hit home hard. Lost a few, almost lost my dad last year. Thanks guys. This episode will continue to help and maybe even save so many people for many many years to come. Tremendous.

Why are we getting such a small amount of Uncle Joey? Only a couple of episodes a week, short podcasts with no guests, this makes me sad.

Damn, Lee went dark talking about how he gets down on himself for not believing he can pull the trigger on himself... That kinda caught me off guard.

Worst thing about suicide of a close friend, family member...it´s contagious. You may have never thought of suicide, but when it hits close to home, you´ll start to think about it. 7 years after my best friend killed himself, i still think about it daily.i cry about it for a few mins daily. My health is pretty bad, and his suicide planted that little seed, that you can do this to escape this world. Statistics prove this, if one of your parents, friends etc commit suicide, your risk of doing the same thing goes up big. Thanks for this talk joey, really helped to put it in perspective.

This is my favourite episode. It really sucks to go through depression especially at a young age. I'm 24 now and I'm still going through that fight of sadness and being alone and locking myself in my room because the outside world scares me. I had no education due to weird and unusual situation at a young age and it bothers me so much. It is painful when you have no one to talk to about it so you keep it to yourself and bury it deep down inside. I am trying to get out of it I really am, but it takes a hold of you and seems impossible to get out of it. Thank you Uncle Joey this was very comforting.
