It’s biblical in a sense that these things happen to real disciples and real believers. I’m glad they’re tackling these topics. I myself have personally gone through enough trauma that I can relate to the character in the show. Life will make you question faith, but endure until the end and you win.

I am again excited to watch!! Can’t wait for the season finale tomorrow! I would have rather watched that Thursday than the Debate but it is what it is.

Looking forward to your honest assessment. Even when I’m more positive about this or that, I appreciate your thoughtfulness. You’re earnest without trying to get views by misleading titles or stirring the pot (so to speak). God bless.

He is God, he can see what everybody truly has in their hearts, the pain, the sadness, and yet he is a man.

Greetings David and fellow followers of this series. Another fantastic breakdown. I'm enjoying these episodes that are so much more Biblically based. I also enjoy seeing the miracles and events. Seeing them has effected how I read the rest of the Bible. I also highly recommend the "Lives of the Apostles" series. Thanks for all your hard work and time David.

Hi there...I think I understand why Messiah Yeshua could have left Thomas to 'cook in his own sauce'...(so to speak)... 1. Rema went to ask her father's permission to marry Thomas... he refused, and she disregarded his will...going back to Thomas... That was a sin against the Fifth Commandment, and they were all STILL under the Law. 2. The hint that Rema lost good standing with God was when she asked Messiah to 'stand in for her' as 'father', so she could marry Thomas...and He answered her that He will discuss this issue with her after the shiva for John the Baptist...avoiding an answer at that time. 3. Thomas knew that by pursuing Rema after her father said no,... he himself, was also disrespecting her father... 4. The Divine Wrath kicked in, when Thomas gave Rema a 'gift' of great value...basically the signature of betrothal...fixing the path to marriage... 5. The fifth commandment comes with a blessing...but if NOT obeyed would obviously result in the opposite... Rema did not have her days 'lengthened' because she dishonoured her father. 6. Thomas' anger and frustration is mixed with guilt and really aimed against himself, feeling guilty as he should...but he takes it out on Messiah, because he knows Messiah is the only one who could reverse the consequences...that's why he told him...'take it back'...when Messiah did nothing to heal or ressurect Rema... (Thomas had to come to ask Messiah forgiveness, but He couldn't see that yet, and God forces no one...it has to be out of choice.) 7. There was also a time issue for the 'last miracle' to take place... Had Messiah ressurect Rema...in front of that crowd...the timeline for His entry into Jerusalem on a donkey would not happen, He would not have been recognized as Messiah ... and prophecy would not have been fulfilled...because He would have been arrested right there and then.... Just my thoughts.

@@NowLetsBeHonest ah ok for me it's two different situations and the reactions are also important in this episode especially big James's réaction and Nathaniel's one too but also little James answer

I was OK with Thomas's reaction. As a widow, who loves Yeshua, I can tell you that his reaction isn't out of the ordinary for what happened. And even trusting Yeshua, it still takes time. LOTS of time. So I'm OK with Thomas.

Simon’s portrayal of the grief of a lost baby, and Thomas’s portrayal of lost betrothed wife are relatable to me also. Particularly Simon. I think the writers have created these plot lines to establish rapport between some characters and swaths of the audience. Art asks for contemplation of the artist’s vision.

I personally disliked the whole Ramah storyline this season, it took away attention from the storyline of the miracles; it’s a weird decision to make up that storyline

I liked it because it gave a backstory to why Thomas is so doubtful even though he’s seen all Jesus’ miracles

Creative license has been taken to write out characters and story development. It's a program made for Television. If you want biblical, read your bible. TV and Film can only do so much. Is it biblical? probably not.

As far as Jesus quoting Psalm 22 from the cross, we know that God cannot stand sin or allow it into His presence. Jesus became sin for all of us. Therefore, it's believable that the Father & Holy Spirit both withdrew from Him. He was without God's presence for the 1st time in His life and He found it to be horrifying! More so than the pain of the crucifixion! That should give us a glimpse of what eternity without Him will be - more horrifying than being crucified. 😱 Don't let that happen.

The whole Thomas-Ramah story is completely made up right? I'm a Christian my whole life and except from The Chosen, i have never heard or read anywhere that the Apostle Thomas was about to mary but his fiancee (??) was killed. Ramah is completely fiction like Peter's wife's miscarrige right?

  • @NowLetsBeHonest

Yes, it is entirely fictional. Ramah and all storylines involving her were made up for the show

@@NowLetsBeHonest Thank you for answering! The Ramah storyline is useless in my opinion. Because there are people who get to know these stories for the first time through this show and it might lead to misinformation to them. Even i who, i know a pretty good amount of stuff about the Bible and the lives of the Apotles, i was doubting my kowledge because they show her SO much in the show and they made a whole deal with Thomas over her death so i was kinda like "Is there some truth to it? Have i been missing something?" So If it got a Christian confused, imagine other people. It wasn't necessary (in my opinion of course)

@fotinitsipa6235 I can see both sides to the argument, but I definitely agree more so with you. As artists, they have creative freedom, but I think it was a huge distraction and actually changes the implications of later stories which are found in the Gospels

@@NowLetsBeHonest Yeah it's like the added stories are creating little "detours" from the real thing. Especially for those who don't know. On the other hand however, it made people actually want to read the Bible which is the best thing it could come out of this show
