The CHINESE SELLER REPLIED After he Sent Me the WRONG ELECTRIC SPORTBIKE

Today we look at the messages the Chinese seller that scammed me sent! He was unresponsive until I started spamming his accounts with messages everyday and he finally gave in and replied. This Electric sportbike from China has been a nightmare, but hopefully this situation is turning around! I was sent the base model of this electric bike when I had paid twice as much for an upgraded version, and according to the sheet of specs he sent me, I should have been getting significantly more performance than what I received.
THE SELLER CHANGED HIS COMPANY NAME TO "Wuxi Jose Vehicles Co., Ltd" ...Avoid them like the plague.
The link to the bike and all the information is in this video:
• How I Bought an ELECTR...
BUT, if you're considering buying one like this, watch the whole video. It is very hard to get one of these and you may not get what you pay for.

@@SmokeyAndTheBud It's a nice theory but it doesn't work in practice. I had a similar experience dealing with a Chinese company which went wrong. I even paid through PayPal but when the goods did not arrive I could not do anything because the 'company' had ceased trading. All they had really done is to close down on Friday evening then open again Monday morning under a different name selling the exact same products. It's just a scam, I don't suppose the products listed even existed other than as photographs on the internet. You can't make a claim against a company that is no longer trading and the new company have no responsibility for the problems of the old company.

Please bear in mind that Chinese culture is very different to ours. In china, it is looked upon favourably to gain through deception. Fraud is rife and their general culture lends itself to short term gains as opposed to long term investment. A bird in the hand etc.

Dave Kirton - As much as I understand where is this coming from, all the frustration, bad experience and all... That is highly uneducated assumption. Chinese culture is all about long term, and very collective consciousness. They as a culture, philosophers and civilization exist thousands of years, many times longer then us. It is superficial to sum all that up under few fraudulent sellers and websites. Sorry for boring you, but you seem to be the person who might want to know about nations, so read up. Explore and learn. Pass knowledge to your kids. Better world.

@@mpelevic Wrong. I see this narrative pushed a lot about Chinese culture being thousands of years old. Sure, most cultures have thousands of years of history by the same definition used, be it European or otherwise. What really changed things in China was the civil war and subsequent victory by Mao Zedong. This victory led to massive purges of culture, a forced de-industrialization that stripped China of a massive amount of excellent history and culture. Certainly it did not all get destroyed but much of it did. This is very sad as so much was lost to all of humanity. As for Chinese culture being deceptive, that's a more complex topic. Chinese culture is very much based on collective society but also has strong individualist portions. Family is vastly more important that in the west but unrelated people from different levels of society, are not seen as family at all. If you can make money from them it is not looked down upon for doing so. As in its not celebrated but neither is it looked down upon. You are seen as being smart and doing a good deal. Similarly US culture around negotiations is not entirely different, a very win-lose mentality rather than mutually beneficial. As for this seller in particular, i doubt they care about the entire electric bike industry, just trying to put food on his table. It is normal for new entrants to first copy name brands as unbranded versions to commoditize a product or service. But also true if they gain success and probably skill or ability to set themselves apart they eventually realize the power of a branding. We see this a ton with all sorts of products and services in developing countries. A great example is electronics, carbon bike frames, even fly fishing rods. First produce unbranded for western companies but realize hey why do this or even continue to do this by why not have a brand on the side and hopefully that brand eventually can stand on its own.

RainCity84 Thank you for being civilized.I would like to point that I agree with you 100%. Everything you have said is true, but that doesn’t mean that there is not more. As you said, it is little more complicated. The only thing that I would disagree is that some narrative is being pushed. I have no reason to do so. I am not Chinese. But, I have spent 25 years studying their language and history, and five years of life there. This topic is so complex that no KZread comment section could absorb, I think you would agree. Another thing that bothers me is the narrative that is really being pushed, as we the westerners know so little about second military and technological superpower from the east, and as such share some banal and superficial quasi knowledge (not you, of course), boiling it down to “uneducated rice cookers and petty fraudsters”. I am afraid that it is going to bite us in the ass too soon.

Bait and switch happens often especially on sites like Alibaba (or Aliexpress), Wish, even Amazon because they're basically just a giant overseas Ebay. Mainly, these sellers just want your money, by hook or crook. If they can get you to buy several of something it means more money for them. Occasionally they'll even rebrand it for you if you order enough, but if you just buy one they have very little incentive to help unless it's a cheap fix or if they really did just screw up they might be trying not to admit it to save face. They might send you the 5Kw motor you paid for (if they even have it) and if they think it will help them sell a thing later, but don't expect them to rush. Too many fraud complaints can also get sellers bounced from the site... which isn't a big deal since they can just rebrand and open up again but I'd suspect it's still technically a hassle.

If you are going to start swapping out parts do not bother with the motor, the reason i say this is the 2800w sticker is usually just that a sticker and has no bearing on what the motor can do, it is usually just a way to sidestep laws in certain county's or simply to cheapen manufacture as you only need to design and make one motor and stick a different sticker on it and up the price on the one with the 5000w sticker, what actually controls the power is the controller and battery and it is these 2 components i would focus on, assuming it has a good battery then simply swapping the controller for a 5000w version will get you more performance, but i suspect the battery in this is junk.

The wattage quoted on an electric motor refers to the peak load power consumption and not the power output. This is an international engineering standard. A lower Wattage electric motor can produce more horsepower than a higher consumption electric motor, much in the same way a lower fuel consumption petrol motor can produce more horsepower than a higher fuel consumption motor. Electric motors also have a power band where they produce optimum power. My 9 miles per imperial (true) gallon Suzuki GT550 B 2 stroke tripple only makes 128 MPH top speed. Compared to the average 35 miles per imperial gallon 600 cc sports bike it is slower. It's all down to efficiency of energy source usage. It's a mystery to engineers why the motorcycle industry doesn't quote the horsepower on their electric bikes yet. They don't sell petrol engined bikes by only quoting miles per gallon figures alone. An electric motorcycle should quote: (A) Horsepower @ RPM (so the torque can be extrapolated). (B) Peak load Wattage (equivalent to miles per gallon on a petrol engined bike). (C) Freshly installed Battery capacity (this gradually diminishes with every charge cycle).

I did that for a air conditioner that I bought at a pawn shop, and who wouldn’t let me return it the next day. I just left it on their doorstep, took a picture of me with it there, and then called my bank. Money was back in my account within a few days

I would highly recommend Alien Power Systems. They're honest, upfront, can supply motor/programmable controller/throttle control, and might be interested in a sponsored build. Batteries are a different story. My recommendation is to find a cheap Smart EV. They typically sell for around $2-3k, and have high grade lithium cells in more than enough capacity for your ride.

DUDE file with Alibaba, they will nail him for you. They value their reputation.

  • 4 жыл бұрын

@Alien On a Bike I'm going to go on a limb and say they very much do give a f***. As Len said, Alibaba takes their reputation seriously. The only caveat that might introduce grey area is the fact that he was shipping and received SOMETHING as opposed to getting nothing at all. My situation below (or tl;dr) I ordered a knockoff Duet2 from Fystec for 97usd delivered. It went nearly 4wks and suddenly the shipment was canceled by the seller. I asked them why and they beat the bush with 'I don't know' etc and left it at that. I asked that they sort it out and get it shipped to me with confirmation this time. Radio silence for 4 days from them. Contacted them again and waited another day, no reply. At this point, I contacted Alibaba to see if they could directly reach out (phone number etc, on my behalf) they immediately advised that I open a dispute becuase 'we don't tolerate our sellers blatantly ignoring customers' their words exactly. So I obliged and disputed it. 3days later, I'm getting a email saying the dispute was settled and I have been issued a full refund. When I checked the details, I see where the seller was indeed trying to fight it but had no compelling evidence as to why the shipment was canceled, why they hadn't immediately sent me another one, and why the silence when I tried to resolve it with them. So if Ali' will attack when you tell them to, over a measly 100usd vs 1000usd+, I'd feel safe in agreeing with Len Zielenski that Ali' takes their reputation very seriously. Here's the amusing bit. The seller got back to me 4days after the dispute was settled, demanding that I stop the dispute becuase they sent me a replacement. Sorry, wut? Can't stop what has already been settled and 4 days old... LOL so she demanded that once I get it, that I return it immediately. I didn't becuase being an international shipment, USPS wouldn't let me merely reject it like you can with domestic shipments. No, I would have had to pay 133usd to ship it back... So I said screw it and kept it then reminded the seller how their customer service is lacking and would have never happened of they just stayed on top of things lol

  • 4 жыл бұрын

@Alien On a Bike Alien On a Bike While unfortunate, your situation sounds like the grey area I mentioned in my reply to the other chap. You bought something and received it then proceeded to use it after you bought it. If it broke, that is indeed something you take up with the seller especially if a warranty is offered. In my case, the seller took my money and couldn't get their transactions together to know they needed to get me a product. Straight forward scenario. In Inja's case, the seller sent him the wrong bike, based on Inja wanting the more powerful option available. He got his product but it was the wrong product. Grey area; but it can still be challenged especially since he's proved that the bike is only 3k watt and not the 5k he ordered. Buying a product, getting exactly what you ordered as per description and that product breaking or malfunctioning is a debate you take to the seller (which you did). But if all else fails, instead of asking them rhetorical questions that you know you won't get an answer to, demand a return or replacement. Ali' may not have acted on your case becuase you haven't demanded a return but even then, it's not their battle to fight. Personally I'd look into contacting your bank to do a charge-back. If they don't want to listen to your compliant, then they'll be all attention when the money gets yanked away from them lol Btw, I personally wouldn't trust any medical devices from such a place like Ali'. It's better to just save up and get from a reputable brand. Hearing aids aren't the super high cost like they used to be in the 90s.

Captain here from the land of electric scooters; 2.8kw motors can and will hit a minimum of 85kph. There's a limiter in the controller, either in-built or hardwired. Try and find a wire that's going from the controller and looped back. If not, try changing the controller to a higher output controller. Ebike controllers like YuYangKing are well-known for high-speed here.
