That is what I needed. I was confused when my Chinese language teacher was saying 'e' every time differently and I couldn't see the pattern. Thank you Grace :)

Indeed, I also confuse for years until Grace told me that one character might sound in different ways, which is not taught in my class.
If anyone asks me for help with pronunciation, I just tell them to come here... great job Grace!

This is exactly what I need to learn Mandarin. I have been looking for this kind of lessons for a long time. I finally found a GREAT Chinese teacher here. Ms Guo teaches Mandarin in detail. I like the way you show us both Traditional and Simplified form of Chinese so that we can learn both at the same time. I wish you could write the characters on top of Chinese characters Bigger. Thank you Ms. Guo. You"re an excellent Chinese teacher.👍🙂🙏🏾
I think yours are the only videos I religiously hit 'like' on. There's just so much useful information in them. Very glad I signed up to italki, too, even as a beginner. It's so good being able to ask questions and get instant answers.
Love you from Vietnam . I have watched every new video of you of course, practice a lot . 榭 榭 老师!⚘

I just started learning 注音 so this is a little overkill for me but I like how you always use both 拼音 and 注音 and traditional and simplified characters so that everyone feels welcome.
Great phonetics work here! Because you brought it up, I noticed that where I lived in China, a lot of people _always_ pronounced "er" as "ar", for any word. I never paid attention to it before...
@sasino

I just thought "ar" was the correct pronunciation
Thank you so much for this video, it’s just what I need. I live in Taiwan I have been frustrated when I speak Chinese and people sometimes don’t understand what I want to say. I’ve been using your videos to improve my pronunciation, and have noticed that this happens much less often. Thanks so much.
Helpful and interesting video as always, thank you grace
Want to say thank you for using IPA to help with pronunciation. It helps so much... I wish textbooks would do this! Superb channel btw - I'm just starting to learn Mandarin and these short videos have been immensely helpful. Xiexie!
"àr" I used to hear that version more often tbh
Thanks Grace. This is very helpful. I’d been quite confused with different e sounds.
Thank you so much for this! 😍
wow, you solved my doubts in 10 minutes. Thank you teacher!
Would love to see this with the other vowels! So easy to understand ✨
Wow, this's very helpful and interesting!
Reminds me a little of the english -ough sound. trough plough through enough dough Having spoken English my whole 34 years of life, I still don't know how to tell them apart besides "I just knough."

Haha yeah learning English is also a challenge 😂
No wonder people have said my 这 sounds weird.. It's because I was using the e sound from 饿 or 恶. Now I know I don't have to use that slightly more difficult e sound. 谢谢你,Grace 老师!
Your videos are helping me a lot, I really want to speak Chinese but it's so hard... :(
This was very helpful. Those subtleties I've never learnt in class!
What a useful video!
Oooh I never noticed this. I've actually started learning Cantonese via Jyutping and lamented how inconsistent I found a lot of pronunciation and lamenting about how much consistent I thought PinYin was. Guess I just got used to it. Some of those sounds, I didn't think sounded different but I guess you're being pretty thorough and I appreciate that :-)
thank you

身為一個台灣人看完影片後也覺得不可思議!居然可以把發音拆解地這麼細!厲害👍 反而相對的我是練習英聽🤣
Thank you! It was really difficult to understand how this letter everytime sounds differently
Omg! 热 is the word my friend says I couldn’t pronounce properly yesterday lol Timely

спасибо за урок! очень четкие и понятные объясния! Могли бы Вы при приведении примеров из двусложных слов повторять их 3 раза (1 - медленно - я только слушаю; 2 - медленно - я поторяю за Вами; 3 - быстрее - я повторяю за Вами быстрее) до паузы для самостоятельного повторения?
非常好!😁😁😁❣🤜🤛
Thanks a Lot!!! Sorry, I was wondering, is the 門's "en" pronounced the same as 前's "an"? Or is there a differences between the schwa sound in "en" terninations and the sound that we should do in words ending in "ian - yuan"?
The Chinese E is every English vowel in one!! 😂😂🤣 😆🤭( I'm kidding )

Do you teach? Do you have a Chinese program to start from scratch? Thanks
Teacher, thank you. Pardon me though. "Schwa" is a one syllable phonetic. It is pronounced with no break between the "sch" and the "wa". Teacher, thanks again. Thumb's up!!!
Grace 也穿著藍色的上衣
好好教
could you please talk about different pronunciations of ‘i’ next? for example, the words 只 zhi3,里 li3, 思 si4 all have an ‘i’ as the only vowel in their pinyin, but they’re each pronounced differently. 谢谢你的帮助!
@Joy-be3gk

You may see this as a disadvantage of Pinyin system.
I've learned a lot form this vid as a native speaker lol ;) but I'm wondering why in this video January is pronounced as *yíyuè* instead of *yīyuè* ? Im asking because the rule is when 一 (yī) appears as an ordinal number (as in "first"), or as a number in a series, address, or date, it is pronounced without the tone change (regular first tone "yī")

Hello👋
Everyone should check out your zhuyin video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c398l6uBmMW7haQ.html I like the "your turn" parts! It's unfortunate that pinyin seems to be used more than zhuyin/bopomofo. Having learned with both, I've always felt that zhuyin makes pronunciation very clear, whereas there's some uncertainty with pinyin. Maybe there will be a video sometime where lao shi will start singing: "bo po mo fo, de te ne le" 😂 (I didn't know there were so many versions. I like one that I saw in Qiao Hu)
If you don't randomly start dancing during the intro music you're lying

Read full carefully. If do good ,get good things in life. If do bad , get bad things in life. God knows all. Read good books for getting knowledge. Pray religious prayer for getting happy. Think 3 times before do any major matter for avoiding problems in life.. sending good message. Thanks ok.
Zhuyin looks like Japanese Kana for some reason.
Hi! I'm Daisy.I would like to talk about business cooperation with you about chinese learning.Look forward to your reply.
This is why I dont get why they didnt start using zhuyin instead of pinyin. That would make everything more simple... should be part of basic beginner chinese lessons.
有夠難😂
