It's so helpful that you are teaching that we need to deconstruct our beliefs, instead of layering more on top with positive affirmations. Thank you for that. So many "self help" teachers don't address this key point. So helpful

@Heather Cameron - positive self affirmations help to rewrite the negative tapes in our head. Yes you are right we have to address the key issue and then rewrite the false narrative in your head. From my own personal experience together with inner child healing meditation videos, reparenting videos help to install good programming and then positive affirmations also add to the creation of the new divine Self.🙏

I get triggers just randomly where i will start to berate myself and talk down to myself in my mothers voice. Lately when this starts i will make myself stop what ever i am doing and ask myself where did this come from and try to trace it back. I never thought of it how you talked about would you say that to a six year old, of course i would not. That is very eye opening. This is a fantastic video, thank you so much.

this is me. My self-talk is so horrible and so much worse than how I was treated in my childhood by my parents, teachers, and peers. No one ever told me to go kill myself or that I don't deserve to live. I SAID THAT TO MYSELF. And I say it so often now that I'm scared that I might do it one day.

Yes you hit the nail on the head. the first domino has to fall. We have to be brave and drop the mask of false self. Dual beliefs, false core beliefs right at the fountainhead. The reason for most of our interpersonal problems. Tks🙏

Yes this is so true. We have been taught LOVE is a "commodity". Today I am giving it to you bcoz you are good. Tomorrow if you are bad I will take it back. We have to separate the bad behavior and the person. The behavior the child displays is bad however the child is always good. This attaching labels is damaging to "myself" and we like sponges take it in and believe we are bad. Each one of us must affirm I am good enough. I am worthy. I am deserving. I am lovable. I am a good human being. yes Alex sometimes we have inferred. This is so mind-blowing.🙏

From my own personal experience which I would like to share I wrote down my VOW. Then I questioned each statement and wrote alongside a new core belief. Then I erased the VOW and daily I Self affirm my new self beliefs for 10 minutes in the morning from my journal. Over a period of time I was able to gradually eliminate the false beliefs stuck in my deepest inner recesses of my mind. Like Lisa Nichols also said in a different way "Expose the lies" in one of her very inspiring videos.🙏

To answer Alex's question at the 5 minute mark of why do we think as a child what we do my answer is because we don't know we can't control outside entities. For me I thought I could control my father saying inappropriate things if I would just communicate to him to make it make sense or because he loved me he would listen to me but he never did listen to me. So I thought I just wasn't strong enough or good enough or whatever to make him stop.

That part about removing the mask hit hard and made me cry, and I don’t cry easily, so true!!!! Slowly realising also I’m resisting discovering these vows as it’s unearthing a new me maybe, something I’m not familiar with, and wondering how it might change things in my life. My husband is openly saying he can see me changing and seems uncomfortable with it, like he’s worried about change, I’ve been such a people pleaser with him I think he feels he won’t get as much attention.

Also we all need to understand that very few adults have had a perfect childhood. Has anyone had a perfect childhood or perfect parents. They were also imperfect, sometimes emotionally unbalanced and can we see them in this light too. Yes they did us a disservice but we have to take the good and the bad times and roll with the punches to grow strong well balanced adults. Tks David and Alex this was very significant content.🙏

Takeaways: We aren’t afraid of criticism, judgement, and comparison if we think we’re wonderfully and uniquely made and of value. What someone says can’t take anything away from you. Emotion->thought -> belief.....is noise from outside world truth or are we cherry picking and accepting negativity only? Are human beings God that can pass final judgements?

Good video. However, I think you need to address cases in which parents have abused/neglected, and rejected their child. How can a person deconstruct their vow when a child is clearly rejected by their parents? Suppose Dave Pelzer, author of "A Child Called It," were to approach you for help after graduating high school, how would you help him in dissolving his vow of self-hatred?

Everyone keeps talking about childhood. I’m sure much of our adult behaviour comes from that period when we are the most ”elastic”. But what about trauma when you are 19-23 years old. That’s what I’m dealing with and don’t know if childhood is the right place to look at. I’m lost

  • @1ajtg

I'm sorry to hear. It all depends on how you deal with the trauma currently happening you. Allow yourself time to navigate this difficult time. Talk to someone that you fully trust. It can be painful to look at your inner child and it takes time and effort. All I can say is if something really doesn't feel right to you, don't do it. Trust your gut instincts. Have faith in better times to come...
