As a Dane I was skeptical at first, but looking at a video showing a drive in North Carolina countryside, I think you're right! Optically they look remarkably similar. I suppose there's a few differences. The big geographic one being Denmark's constant proximity to the sea, there's no point in DK further than 50 km from the sea, in actual fact! It's something I love about the country. And the climate is very different, Denmark is a lot colder generally. It's weird because the way the countryside and beaches look, you expect it to be hotter, but it's mostly no warmer than 18-25 degrees C in summer. Then there's a few cultural differences, which are huge in Danish urban areas, but admittedly smaller out in the countryside. The first is that Denmark is a cycling nation, so even where there isn't that much cycling infrastructure as in the area in this video, cyclists are always expected and respected when they're on the road. I've noticed that drivers even in other European countries like the UK are far more agressive, which is a shame. Can't say how it is in the US, but I would expect them to be regarded as more of a nuisance. The other thing is that due to the social democratic nature of Danish government (in a polarised American political frame it would be called socialist, which is a shame because it isn't) there are publicly subsidised regional rail services and bus services that stretch out into most rural communities, including the one shown in this video, so that they can be reached not just by car. Of course the other thing taxes go towards are healthcare and high quality public infrastructure, which is why the roads are in good condition too. They don't do this as effectively and frequently as in Switzerland say, but I would presume still more so than in the US. The really crazy thing about the area shown in this video though, which makes it so special in my eyes, is that is a mere 1 hour drive by either car or public transport from Copenhagen, the capital city, which, if you include the metro area is a city with more than a 1 million inhabitants. So it's a precious gem really, because it means you get the calm, peaceful and reserved seaside or Danish countryside if you want it, but you can easily reach the bustle and hustle of the city should you wish to do that. Not many places in the world like it, I'd say.

Very beautiful drive, green and beautiful landscape, perfect weather, relaxed driving and very light traffic, what can you want more? Makes me wanna hit the road and visit this great country, have been very close to it a few weeks ago (on the german island of Sylt), but didn't went over the border. The villages in Denmark doesn't has the cables in the air and in the facades... and the lorys don't pass by the way across the village... The main street are cleaned in difference of my country villages.
