Mephiles is by far the best antagonist in the sonic franchise and imo has one of the best character introductions of all time

You should definitely include his Monstrous Form.

Mephiles is by far the greatest sonic villain because unlike all the other villains the only way to stop him was by erasing his existence! The best way to bring Mephiles is that he had a contingency to where he saved a small part of himself in case he failed he would be able to regenerate and recover his power His biggest advantage just like from the game no one knows who he is and what his intentions are, no telling what he will do but undoubtedly it will be whatever he pleases.

I find it hard to believe that a being like Mephiles who obtained godhood through Solaris could simply be erased from his point of creation. A being who can travel through time, we know little how his powers actually work beyond what we see him see do and if we want to assume him having a reason to not kill Sonic right away beyond the fact the script needed another draft, what were his reasons in doing things the way he did. Considering Solaris destroyed the space-time continuum by existing, no way does blowing out the flame can just simply erase a being like that from existence. Let alone the fact Mephiles wouldn’t have thought of some contingencies in the event Solaris gets defeated and having his own point of origin be undone. Plus considering the Ifrift, Time Eater, the Phantom Ruby and throwing in Archie Comics idea of the scrapped Null character stuff exists; appears someone had thought of that as well. You can undo the whole Solaris Incident and rewrite the timeline accordingly but I doubt you undo a monster of that caliber that easily.
