You're one of the rare few to cover such niche tournaments and I'm glad you did. Also you made a mistake where that's actually South Korea lifting the U-17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago not North Korea

I'm from Lithuania and I went to a few futsal world cup matches. I watched a few group stage, two round of 16 matches and the final. The round of 16 match Iran vs Uzbekistan was the best sporting event i have ever been in (and i have been in Allianz Arena during a Bayern game). Apart from the crazy scoreline (8-9) the ultras were absolutely amazing.

Penalties is our kryptonite. I think it’s our equivalent exchange of being so good. In order to be so good you must have the weakness of being unlucky at penalty shootouts. I believe this happened back in 98 when the last time we won a shootout was that World Cup. That was when France truly became good and almost unstoppable when their at their prime. Crazy how since then we’ve conveniently never won a shootout then. I’m certain had there been no shootouts in the World Cup finals against different teams that played dirty in order to win, France would have truly 4 earned World Cups rn. I’ve noticed penalties even affects other Frances squads. Like the women’s squad who lost the 2023 w World Cup on penalties and this u 17 squad who lost on penalties. I swear France at their best is just to good where the only way they can lose is to a penalty shootout. I’m certain all the matches where France went to pens wouldn’t be losses if there were no such thing as pens

There’s no U-15 World Cup organized by FIFA There are only other u-15 cups, but not an “official FIFA WC” as the other ones And it also doesn’t appear on FIFA’s website
