So many crazy things. In the year I've been watching Gary I've NEVER seen him drive until now. Also I loved when you told that little lemonade hustler to keep the change! 2 weeks ago I bought $100 worth of Monster energy to resell because it was on sale for $1.50 each. I marked it up to $2.50. I've tried that some years ago, you can make small bucks, but also you can invest that time on other skills which in long term can pays off much more.. So its just another public stunt.

Omg! I search all over garage sale and Craigslist because of you Gary! I drive around in a LR3 woot woot! Monday is perfect for the left overs that people don’t want. I got so much in the passed two weeks and just started my event decorating business on all of the finds and cash I earn from it. 10% goes to a charity once a month and the rest goes right back into my business. I’m in tears because I finally feel like it’s real for me. Thank you so much I just can’t say enough the gratitude I have for all that you do! Love you Gary!

No bullshit, I used this flipping gig 14 years ago to keep the rent paid and finance affiliate marketing ad spends as I learned that game, that then funded me starting my own agency and now employs 14 sales guys of my own. I could have easily made 120-160k a year just flipping full time, and honestly it was so much more fun than making a lot more than that now but having all the stress and grind of the business world. You are dead asleep if you need money and aren't out there in this hustle. I know so many guys that flipped this money into starting everything from real estate rehab to carpet cleaning companies to stacking retirement accounts.

back then I was driving all over CT on weekends and eventually I would also hit a couple auctions during the week on tuesday and thursday nights where you could bid on individual items as well as full lots, got tons of amazing flips there from buying tables of tools and knives to old typewriters and cool signs for mancaves and collectors.

Free is always great. Picked up turquoise vintage pyrex from my local dump swap shop, going for $110+ on eBay. That dump swap shop has done wonders for me.

When you start don’t forget to think about what you already know a lot about not necessarily in the flip game, but your knowledge in an area that might be a past or current hobby, apply that to flipping. Good luck.

Many Gary you just GET IT! The passion and excitement you have for this is palpable. I've had people tell me that this type of life wouldn't be fun and I just look at them like they are crazy. THIS and retail arbitrage and buying bulk on eBay in auctions is the most fun "job" I could ever have.

Thanks for inspiring me from a year ago. I mean, I had the ideology to do this myself...(sold over 300k each year for three years in a row while working retail). I'm a high volume seller in New Zealand. I have over 15000 feedbacks. Gary when you say you can make over 1000 on a Saturday, sure that's possible but you're missing out so much. Cleaning the product, testing if its electrical, taking photos, creating listing and adding description. Packing when sold and some stuff takes a lot longer to sell then usual. Also your expense, fuel, vehicle depreciation, online fees for selling product, credit card PayPal fees, tax and gst. I'm not trying to discourage people, just being realistic here.

Right it's easy when your already rich, he can go do this for a couple hours , then go back to his office and have people clean it,list it,ship it ,for him .... the rest of us not so much, but once you have made it you have made it in all ways

Buying is the easy part. From my experience being a second dealer online for years is that people go out and buy all this crap to resell. They come home and are overwhelmed with the amount of work getting that stuff cleaned, listed, packing etc. They end up hiding that junk up in the attic. The real work is right up to the end. It's easy to spend $100 to make $1000 but it's only worth -$100 if you don't do anything with that stock. I love what Gary is saying, you can make money, I have been doing this for years, but there's so much more behind the scenes to make it successful. And remember 10% of the time on (Ebay) you will get screwed and they will return item, or say unauthorized purchase and do a package intercept and you lose ALL YOUR MONEY..

neo5tar agreed. I just started flipping clothes and there is a lot more behind the scenes that is portrayed. Also even just taking good photos, a professional vs non professional photo, even semi professional, can be the difference between people taking you seriously vs not, the website upkeep(if you have one), marketing, etc...once you’re over the hump and into the flow of things it’s game on but it’s more to it than people think(which is good because less competition for me! lol)

I am glad i saw this. I started out doing exactly this and also going to Ross as they have a money back policy. Now what was once a side garage sale side hustle, is now a full fledged rapidly expanding 6 figure business buying in bulk from major brands. 6 figures in less than a year. This is doable for anyone willing to put the time in. Thank you for the great upload Gary!

At my local stores, there is always a bin with a bunch of brand new wallets. Calvin Klein, Nike, etc... I will buy them for $9 to $12 and sell for about $25 to $30. I also recommend going for Big brand name shirts with tags (Nike, Jordan, Adidas, etc), as you can also dump them on Facebook garage sale relatively easily if they don't sell on ebay. Shirts are also very easy to ship. Also look in the hat section, there are some diamonds in the rough there. I once found a hat for $5 and sold it for $59. Remember also, if you see some items don't get many views on ebay, try Facebook, Mercari, and Craigslist if you wish. Big brand names always have a market.
