$300 dollar profit all day long guys! Every garage sale hunt can’t have a $2,000 outcome, but part of the game is that you have to be playing as much as possible to get the really valuable stuff. The $300-$500 bucks is still A LOT more money than most people are making on the weekend or on hourly wage. #muglife ;)

That doesn't answer the question. How many man hours will go into posting each and everyone of those items? It takes a surprisingly long time to post stuff (not that Gary would know, other people do it for him). There is a whole other half of this garage-sale-arbitrage that isn't being represented. At the end of the video he claims its 10 hours of posting, doubtful. Entertaining though!

  • @belds08

Not sure if you're a GaryVee disciple or if you work for him but if you do tell him to post the posting process. Telling people they can make $100 to $1000 / week and only glossing over the fun parts without being transparent about the whole process seems a bit misleading. How many people and how many hours does it take to post every single one of those items? How many hours to package and drop off at the shipping office? How long will these items live on eBay before he actually closes a bid? A $1 mug that lists for $35 is awesome for internet content but not awesome if no body actually buys it.

I resent him a message and he apologised and stated that he was just going thru a rough patch with his wife. Some people need to work on themselfs emotionally or mentally. an underrated thing about Gary's ability to create content... is that he's always doing super quick "Just bought this, wait to see what it goes..." type of videos for each item... so that he can then go back and add additional content like eBay sold listing screen shots... and together they make a cohesive short piece of content. But he's setting up content later in the day, by staying proactive in getting the footage in live time. It doesn't take away from his day to create the content, and it gives them a great deal of content to build on for more "produced" short videos. Truly brilliant.

Gary, I've been doing this and teaching people how to do this for 20 years. There are 4 types of people. Dumb/Lazy Dumb/Hard Working Smart/Lazy Smart/Hard Working The DL types won't even try it. They're the ones making excuses in the comments and they don't have the imagination or motivation to try it and succeed. The DHW types will succeed but since they only know how to work, they will simply repeat the same transaction over and over. These types make a good living but they work 7 days a week. These guys are like hammers and they go out looking for nails-only nails. The SHW types are the rarest. I would say Gary fits this type. They can figure out what works and apply it to a completely new idea. These are the people who start out garage sailing and end up with their own clothing label. Then there's the SL types. These guys get into drop shipping and Amazon FBA. They're on their laptop for 4hrs a week and vacation for 3 months out of the year.

JJ Natteri hi! I’ve been going to the thrift for some time now. As Gary says, when you go more often you become more familiar with what will and won’t sell. Live and learn. In this scenario, I was looking for books that looked older. I found 4 of them together and used that “completed items/sold” filter on eBay when looking the books up. This gives me an idea of what similar items sold for and how often they’re selling. Hope this helps!
