The Cave Who Was Here Before Me?
Ойын-сауық
Brady Brandwood explores a hidden cave in Badin, NC, but when he climbs deep inside he discovers something left by somebody before him, in the 1970's,... and likely even way before that. This is a very enjoyable adventure with amazing views.

I just realized why the sound of your voice sets off nostalgia in me. You sound like one of the narrators on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom (at least from my childhood memories you do.) Sunday evenings, my siblings and I would dutifully come inside and take our baths at 6 pm. If she could afford it, it was our one day a week Mom would treat us with TV dinners. By 7 we were on the floor in front of the TV with our meals watching Wild Kingdom. After that came Daniel Boone. At 8 came the main show, Wonderful World of Disney. Then bedtime (if we hadn't fallen asleep by then). I realize I've just seriously dated myself. 😄 Things weren't simpler or better then. Just different, with memories softened by time.

Actually things were simpler back then . Children were allowed to be children. There weren’t pedophiles all over the internet trying to hunt us down. And a whole host of other reasons it was. And secondly his voice does not remind me of any narrators from Wild Kingdom one bit.

As a former cave explorer I would _STRONGLY_ suggest not entering a cave like this alone. I don’t know if you had anyone with you or not, but I would have someone either with you or outside waiting. As you said you never know what you may encounter. Oh, BTW definitely wear shoe/boots long pants and sleeves. Because as you said you never know- “OK OK already!!”

Agree 100%. As a venomous snake keeper, I know from experience that it is better to be safe than sorry in environments like this.
When I first started watching you and Leon I thought you were more of a city person. But, now I see you are a wild man bare-footing up to high peaks and diving off into water where venomous snakes might lurk. ~~~~ Great video !!

wow, you really had me on the edge of my seat there.. thanks for posting and be safe poking around in caves!
That was a very cool cave! I think those bones were catfish and maybe turtle. Not sure of the skull tho. Loved the barefooted climbing shots! Hated watching you explore a cave bare footed and alone. Dude! One does not simply walk into Modor! Protect your feet and bring an adventure buddy to play Jim Fowler to your Marlin Perkins (Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom reference). I will watch you explore more caves or cool nature spots, if you're so inclined. Give Leon a shrimp for me!

Very cool. I would be terrified 😨
I too live in North Carolina and I can say, since the 1970's (and well before and well after), we've had a number of earthquakes. I bet back in the 70's that cave was a bit larger and kids were partying in there. Now though, no way would that be comfy for partying! Thanks for showcasing our beautiful state!

@@Bradybrandwood It was well high above the water 2000 years ago. The french began building the Dam back at the beginning of the 20th century. This was known as the narrows at that time and I understand it was some of the roughest white water in the state. This general area was home to a large native american population for hundreds if not thousands of years.
Brilliant camerawork and both the diving & exploring the cave came with risks.

We have a local hiking spot where a lot of people go and on one the side of a mountain wall is what we call the hobbit hole. It reminds me of this cave but it's circular. Sometimes people live in there for awhile. You pass by and there's curtain over the opening or a sleeping bag sticking out.
Totally off the subject....you have a nice voice - easy to listen to. Have you thought of reading audio books on KZread? That cave is so cool, but I'm terribly claustrophobic. I wouldn't last 5 minutes in there! Just watching this gave me severe anxiety. I had to stop watching. Damn! I love adventuring like that, too!

Me too! I watch cave explorers now and then, and feel a little anxious sometimes, but this one gave my severe anxiety from the moment he went in! Whoa, it was intense! Great editing and beautiful scenery though. 😊
I have been following Leon but today decided to check this out; I love caves. Anyway, first I saw the snake and the next thing was your bare feet climbing the cliff!! 😱 Nooooo!
Curious if you noticed any potential shaping of the rocks/boulders around the cave or cliffs (some seem quite blockish and cut)? I live south of here in Georgia, and I often hike around a flooded lake area which has definite Native American ruins along the previous creekside (rock walls, rock mounds, and possible structures). I've begun to believe it is a far more extensive settlement as many of the rocks I thought were natural now appear placed as I continue to look at it. I'm trying to learn more, and this led me to your helpful videos! Thanks!
_-Yeah you posted again. Ooh I'm starting to get anxiety and dizzy.-_ 😃
I’m glad you went into that cave, because I’d be freaking out. Nope nope NOPE. LOL very cool though. Hope you can find out what the pointy bones were that you weren’t familiar with.
