@jose tapia I wouldn’t doubt for a moment that people trained with helpful skills for survival would last much longer than your standard by-the-book civilian, but when put in a life or death scenario you can see a whole new side of someone. Someone far braver and willing to take risks then their usual self.

I do find this mostly forgotten film to be an exceptionally lit and shot atmospheric gem. Genuinely it has some stunning underwater sequences. "The Cave" is better than subsequent similar films of more renown such as "The Descent" and "Sanctum". Love the Patrick Tatopoulos creature design too! I wonder if James Cameron is aware of this film, because if I were him I'd hire the cinematographer Ross Emery for the Avatar sequels. But I guess Russell Carpenter (True Lies, Titanic) is a fine choice too.
What i really liked about this movie was Jack. After he got infected and started to transform i was absolutely sure that he would transform further and start to kill his teammates. But in the end he sacrificed himself to save the others and i was like "Huh, guess he's a cool guy after all. Whaddaya know."

What?
Honestly I thought this movie was awesome, now and back then. I thought it set up a really cool sequel that I'm sad didn't happen as well as am surprised it was hated so much. Compared to other horror movies. This one does a lot of different stuff. It's not just a normal cabin in the woods horror film. It's element of claustrophobic and fear of drowning in a dark cave really gave me genuine anxiety for the characters.
This is one of the things I'll never do. I enjoy adrenaline, I've been skydiving, I plan to scuba dive in my lifetime, I've jumped on cargo trains just for the fun of the ride etc. but I won't ever go scubadiving into underwater cave systems. It's way too dangerous, way too easy to get lost and run out of oxygen. It's dark, claustrophobic and cold. Humans weren't meant to die in places like that. I'm super glad to have discovered this channel! Subscribed and thank you!

I find so many good films through this channel thank you!
I also thought that "The Cave" was a neat little entry into the 'mysterious creatures hiding in the darkness' scenario, and although I did like the winged, hybrid monstrosities in this film, they did not scare the willies out of me as did the 'crawlers' in "The Descent!" That film and, in some degree, this one, started having an influence when I would take an escorted tour of any commercially operated cavern system! I'd be staring into the shadow areas behind the formations, or constantly gaze up toward the dimly-lit ceiling chambers and vaults above the pathways, listening intently to just about every drip or splash echo that reached my ears.

I remember watching this movie on TV once, completely forgot its name, I'm so glad I found this video. Although I do have to wonder why these bat's grew so large, it doesn't seem like they get enough food for their large bodies and the cave was sealed so not much would fall in. No worries champ! Hope you enjoyed the vid :)
Wow. I have never known this movie existed (probably because I was too young at the time) but it looks really neat! Thanks for bringing this up! ^^
I used to own "The Cave" on UMD for my PSP. I liked it a lot but my PSP no longer functions and I haven't found it on Blu-ray yet. "The Cave" is exceptionally well made for it's budget and genre. I was always hoping for a sequel but it never happened, and everybody forgot about the movie.
Can you do a video on the 80's Movie Lifeforce please?

I love this movie. Even though I already understand the story, I still like the recap. I love the creature design and effects team footage. Keep up the good work

Wow I never saw this movie but definitely going to check it out now it’s right up my ally. Great channel btw!
Starting to think this is my favorite movie explained channel on KZread, you have great fucking taste in movies. Zero sarcasm dude. You're awesome.
I loved this movie, it ended in a way where there could have been a sequel but sadly there never was😟
When you're sad because you've already seen it, but watch it anyway because you don't have anything else to do.
The designer also did a phenomenal job working with the creatures from the Silent Hill movie adaption
Great video as always man can’t wait for more videos
I love your videos because I love creeping myself out.
"Unlike anything" they're basically vampires
Definitely a very good underrated film, thanks for the great explanation !
Love your videos bro, keep it up!!
