The Casio G-Shock GBD-200 - A Perfect (Not Too) Smart Watch

The Casio G-Shock GBD-200 just might be the best modern G-Shock yet.
Sure, we all know how great the classic G-Shocks are, but this one adds in some nice modern tech without going overboard.
Come along for an unboxing, try-on, and exploration of features.
And yes... I'm an idiot. It's not daylight savings time right now. Just ignore that part of the video for me, OK?

The refresh rate on MIP displays is limited to 1hz. So it can't display anything under a second cuz the MIP can't keep up

I have a Gbd-200 and a Gbx-100. Both great watches and the display is absolutely amazing. Basic interface for any user, the only thing missing is an audible alarm at all hours. 😊

To each their own. I’ve been enjoying this watch even more than I thought I would. Solar would be convenient, but taking the 5 mins to change a battery every 3-5 years is well worth it for me.

Agree. I’m getting one if it ever goes solar for sure. Love watches that have batteries that can hang in there for 10 years.

Yes and yes! I’ve found it very comfortable. I know that wrists come in all shapes and sizes, though, so I can only speak for myself.

They do. It’s the DWH5600. That one also has the heart rate/fitness sensor in it and it’s double the price of this one.

I get where you’re coming from, but it’s all subjective. Solar is nice, but having to change a cheap battery every 3-5 years on a sub-$200 watch is never going to be a deal breaker for me.
