The Case of Beverly Carter

Ойын-сауық

Beverly Carter was a highly successful realtor in Little Rock, Arkansas. When she went to a viewing in 2014, she never returned. A massive search began, and after a chase the people behind the disappearance would be revealed, as would their plot.

I make sure my loved ones get wherever they’re going when they leave and I also make sure they make it back home in a timely manner. I say all the time that the Lord knew what He was doing not allowing me to be a mother (I tried but failed to get pregnant) because I would be horribly overprotective. I will never understand what makes someone want to take a life. I will carry bugs out of my house so I don’t have to kill them lol. (Not roaches or nasty stuff lol. I live in the country and moths flock to our porch light) I just don’t get those who want to hurt other people. I guess it’s good I don’t understand these things. Sad sad world we live in.

Honestly wish I'd never met him though, because I wouldn't have if this hadn't happened to Beverly. As for the victim blaming some in the comments have done, just stop it. This was very well-covered by Mike, but you blamers don't have all the details. Beverly didn't do anything wrong, she was targeted by a couple of criminal losers.

Speaking as a lawyer, that’s something I wish true crime programs reflected more accurately. There can be many strategic reasons to plead not guilty that the defense attorney is obligated to advise in order to do their job of zealously advocating for their client. It’s not personal and it’s not about the defendant being an asshole. The defendant might be/probably is an asshole, but it’s not fair to blame them for following their lawyer’s advice and it’s not fair to blame the lawyer for doing their job.

And yeah, I do think it’s bad to say.. why is that your first thought? You hear someone is hurt and you automatically jump to “well what did they do to deserve it?” Why assume that being hit and cheated on was something she brought on herself? Why give him the benefit of the doubt when the only info we have is that he hurt her? That’s a weird take.

  • @Rubydoomsday

@H N I never said he isn’t allowed to be sad, in fact I said I’m sorry for his loss. I’m saying I don’t think she should have had “many more years with him” because as a survivor of domestic violence once they start hitting you in the face it tends to escalate from there. It’s not a gender thing, if your partner escalated to physical violence there’s a good chance it will continue to escalate. The police know that, that’s why he was a suspect in the first place.

I'm from Arkansas! Born in Hot Springs, lived there and in Pearcy my whole life. It's funny that Mike asked what there is to do in Little Rock bc its considered the big city in my area lol. On a serious note, this case rocked the community. Just the mere thought of last moments chilled me to the bone. It was just so senseless

FYI, the Arkansas River was straightened out in the 40's and a few old river arms were cut off from the river itself, these were landed out and are now lakes. There are quite a few of these old river arms in that area.

companies should create and supply a body worn camera that pairs to your phone. Once you arrive at the meeting you turn it on and it starts streaming to a cloud server. it could have a panic button that when pressed would broadcast a sos and your location and a horrificly loud alarm. wouldnt cost much to make maybe £100. Would also send an alert when covered or removed from a person without turning off
