That’s a very nice Duoface! Never seen the white gold version before. Yes, definitely more deals to be had on the JLC front than Cartier. You can get a mechanical steel Classique for less than a quartz steel Basculante.

I have several watches, Rolex, Bell & Ross, Girard Perregaux but have my sights set on a Cartier tank and then I think my collection will be complete for me. Even considering getting a quartz version, mostly to give quartz a try. Since it lacks a second hand no one will know except for me.

I love my reverso. Also jlc offers a leather strap, its not distressed but looks like vintage and not a dress watch strap. Makes my reverso great for everyday use. I have alligator strap to make it a dress watch

Christian; T4YC. I feel I should own a Cartier or a JLC. I went to the JLC showroom in Bond Street, London, and the experience was very poor, and I wasn't blown away by the quality. I visited Cartier, a few doors down, and it was chalk and cheese. So I am planning on a Santos Large. The way you can change straps is brilliant.

I believe that for some reason the wealthy are more impatient and more easily influenced by marketing, and the price of Cartier went up simply because channels like this started pumping them.

literal fact, if you go check the grey market cartier prices are actually going down but fk heads like this guy keep prices from retailers/ads up nice and high , this channel also SELLS WATCHES THEMSELVES soooooo you kind of always have to take what this beta male says with a grain of salt . i cant fkn stand Posh betas males even when they have a point and a good opnion like this guy does most of the time i just want to slap him the moment i think he is schilling bull shit like he is here . total lack of self awareness .

Don’t trade. Keep that and then buy a 90s tank with “Swiss” dial for around 2-4k. The basculante is one hell of a watch and doesn’t give you the same emotions as a regular tank. Wait more time enjoy that basculante then buy a tank!😁

When a brand transitions, from a decision based on, quality, perceived value and personal preference, to a perceived personal expression lifestyle choice, you will get the artificial run up in demand and cost.

The coke needs to be no gilt that’s about the only complaint I can see. Other then the normal Tudor ones as in the fake rivet oyster and the complication of buying bracelets or straps for the watch. The rubber is what I’d buy it on but I’d love to have an oyster or jubilee to put on at my discretion and it’s like pulling hens teeth getting a factory one.

The tank Française in steel was released in 1995 I think, before 1999 for sure. Maybe the tank Americaine was late 90s as well.

I’d love a Tank Cintree, sadly too rich for my blood. The Tortue Monopusher rereleased a couple decades ago is even more in my wheelhouse, another watch I can’t make happen. Tanks, like Reverso are quite fine, I just don’t see them fitting my style. Can’t pull them off convincingly, though I am more drawn to dress watches than ever. Grew bored with tool watches quite some time ago.

It’s bizarre. I suspect there being stealthy marketing happening because almost every “influencer” has been mentioning Cartier watches ad nauseum. The watch looks like it was pulled from an 80s black and white cartoon. Not deserving of the hype.

The Tank truly is the do anything watch. Dress it up. Dress it down. It just works.

The Reverso is a much better looking timepiece than the Basculante in my opinion. However, I’m biased as I own a Reverso. Now the Cintrée is a beautiful Cartier Tank on another level.

It‘s funny how nobody talks about the Cartier Pasha. In my opinion one of the most underrated watches in general. An original Gerald Genta Design with personality like an Nautilus or Royal Oak, 100m WR, Beautiful Dial variations, amazing history and a Price around 2k! I would like to hear T&H take on the Pasha!
