Glad you guys liked this video - it was an absolute pleasure to hang with Kirk for a few hours. And if you think he's got chops in this video, you should have seen the clinic later that day - what a player!! Go check his music out. Cheers to Kirk for popping by. And if you want to see your favourite guitar player in a Capt Meets video, then please just badger the shit out of them on social media ;)

Cap'n'Kirk
Is it weird that a music retail shop in England is my main inspiration to get better at playing the blues? Pete, Rabea, Chappers, Captain, thank you all so very, very much!
Kirk is a monster, but until this interview I had no idea how approachable and cool he was. What a player.

Why should he be otherwise??
This is my first introduction to Kirk Fletcher and his music. I made a legacy of telling my children that you are never too old to learn. I have come to a point in my bucket list where it is time for me to answer my own challenge. I am taking up the guitar, while I hopefully have a few years to become proficient (starting at 73+). Blues is my sole interest, and this will be my gift to myself, for all the years I set this desire aside for family and career. I enjoy all the videos you provide to keep us abreast of all the new equipment and great artists you allow us to become acquainted with. The journey forward will be awesome.

what a lovely guy. Don`t even listened to the music, yet, but I`m already a fan.
Happy to see that Pete got a little jam in at the end :D
I absolutely love this guys attitude
Cool, humble guy with some very tasteful playing!
Kirks humility is why he is who & where he is today. Great man with morals & principal.
Gentle giant, seems like such a nice fellow, fantastic blues player.
Mike Landau, Josh Smith, & Kirk Fletcher... That's a show I would fly to. Great humility and such a tasty player.
The Captain is such a great interviewer.
What a super cool guy!
Kirk Fletcher has got the blues
I wonder how many, besides me, is going to check out the first Thunderbirds record after watching this 😊

Kirk is Hands down Thee best blues player Today! His story, his life and the way he uses all of this. No one is got this edge today. Blessed !
Mike Landau, Kirk Fletcher, Josh Smith...The reason I don't even bother trying to play the blues. Kirk is the man.

Lee, these are seriously some of the most enjoyable videos on all of KZread. Just two dudes chilling, talking about guitar. Playing a little. Cheers, keep these coming.
Excellent Show. Kirk Fletcher is the man. Never disappoints. He and Josh Smith together is the show of shows. Thanks for putting this show together! Bring on the jazz/blues guitarists!
it's a shame i can only give one thumbs up! it deserves over 9000!
I have only watched one and a half minutes and I will say that this is already, by far, my favorite "The Captain Meets..." video.
Kirk is such a gracious humble man . God bless him and his music .
That A chord style is Paul Kossoff - needed for All Right Now
Sick guitarist and seems like a real good guy. Definitely got a new fan today.
The Captain meets....David Gilmour :) I can dream can't I? :)

Late to this ; 2018. Man that intro jam *is* the blues and the rest of us are just playing at playing the blues.
This is just utter enjoyment all the way through! Reminds me I'm a musician in a good way!
Great Guy !!!! 👌☄
I was lucky, being from Texas, I got to see Gatemouth Brown. He's a legend, but he was really nice. Kind of like Kirk Fletcher. Humble.
Kirk, straight to earth guy, like your playing, hope to see you soon in belgium. Your a fantastic player and person. Big fan here
Kirk is always smiling :) He seems such a nice guy! Good job on the interview! Thank u!
Same amp as mine....blues cube artist and it's fabulous
Kirk Fletcher is such a humble man!!! No wonder he can make his guitar sing with so much soul!!
The Captain meets Derek Trucks... It would be amaaaazing!
Oh my gosh... That part he plays at the 20 min mark is jaw dropping. So good!
Blues needs more recognition, in my country all the blues fans are like 65+ old.
Kirk is seriously one of the most humble and nice dudes.
what a top guy. really humble, great player. will definitely be checking him out!
Discovered Kirk on Pandora!!! Been a fan of his ever since!!! Great guy and monster talent!!!
more like this please Captain..... amazing
What a nice humble dude!
Such an awesome guy! Great player! I really need to check out his music!
Can't stop watching this! Great interview with a superb player!
Thank you so much,it's a really pleasure. One note, please open a stop on the lens in wideangle footage.
Wonderful video, great player, great questions and remarks, very charismatic - both of you! I like Kirk´s new album very much!
Wonderfull Kirk, great guy fantastic Guitarist!!!
That guitar tone!!!! It was buttery and awesome. Just wow!
Every interview I see with Kirk he's the same genuine, humble guy and that's so refreshing when so many of today's artists seem to be all about 'branding'. What a great player he is too, just beautiful tone - I love how much fun he is having just jamming around with another guitar guy. Seriously, is there anything better?
The masterclass last week was brilliant. Wonderfully humble and talented guy.
Just awesome
Interesting, I just recently got into Kirk Fletcher and I´m an absolute fan now! That feel and those licks man...
I wish my fav guitarist could be interviewed by the Captain ( Gary Richrath) R.I.P. Gary so glad I saw ya up. Lose in Butte MT . Circa-1977 ❤️
Such a nice guy Kirk Fletcher! A joy to see!
I'm part of their generation, just turned 42 and i can relate to what they are saying alot. Sold my les paul and prs guitars though and bought an ML3 RC. Paid for my honeymoon 😁
Yeaaa Kirk Fletcher!
Loved that surprise at the end with Pete!
Super smooth!
I first became familiar with Kirk when he played with Joe Bonamassa on the Muddy Waters/Howlin Wolf shows. From there, I found more of his music. A very talented and humble guitar slinger! Nice segment, Captain!
Both of you were so charming and delightful. So many great truths - and so much joy & passion. Thanks Lee! Keep it up.
Great guy and a super player. Thanks, Lee!
thank you for introducing this great player to me.
Pete was tearing it up!! Great jam at the end!!!!
I had never heard of Mr. Fletcher before but I really liked his playing here and he seems like a real nice guy. I gotta go pick up some of his stuff!
One of my favorite "Captain meets..." Kirks tone is just WOW. I knew the BluesCube is the "tubiest" solid state amp out and is totally underrated, but that tone is in this masters fingers. * Lee made it to my favorite interviewer. And i watch tons of guitar channels and interviews.
What a cool guy!
This video made me feel happy.
I don't know if it is because of the humbuckers and solid state amp but Kirk sounded so much like B.B. King. Amazing player!
Hes such a cool dude. Amazing touch
Nice to hear some soul in the blues....
That was fantastic. You need to get josh smith next 👍

He was absolutely amazing at our last clinic with Guthrie Trapp! Great choice guys!
Kirk fits more music into a few notes than most of the youtube 'guitar heroes' manage in a lifetime. Plus he's a cracking fella.
Heard him a couple of years ago, playing a Fender thinline Tele, (I think) and the sound he got out of that guitar was out of this world.... It was creamy, but still defined. He could have played threee notes all night, and it would still have been fantastic.. It's probably the best sounding guitar I've heard live, and I'm 54. I've heard a few...
What an excellent interview.
What a fantastic player and awsome guy!
You have the blues, Captain!
Gutted I had to miss the clinic that night, was recovering from an operation.Looking forward to seeing Kirk and Josh at at least a couple of his upcoming shows.I will second his Jimmy Vaughan opinions, his solo albums are a lesson in taste, restraint and feeling. Kirk is developing along those lines and is an awesome humble guy to boot.
Thanks for doing this Lee. He did a clinic at my university last year (Dudley Ross is my guitar tutor), saw him again in Maidstone and going to see him again at Whitstable with Josh Smith this September. Incredible Guitarist and such a nice guy.
Great idea to not mention the amp till the end! I wonder how many people thought it sounded "digital" when Kirk played without knowing what kind of amp it was :)
For people who do not know there is and was a great newer west coast blues scene going on in California - including Al Blake from the Hollywood Fats band, James Harman also had a ton of great guitar players - Kid Ramos, Nick Curran (RIP), Kirk, Junior Watson - so many great players it is well worth looking in to!!
I went to the clinic, it was inspirational for playing, then the captain meets is amazing as always!! Thank you andertons!!! :))
Wow, great player and really down to earth guy! Excellent video, Cap'n!!
Thank you Kirk, thank you Lee, thank you Pete, wonderful visit.
Would happily pay to see a John Mayer special, maybe when John's promoting the new album in the UK it'll happen.
What a humble great guitarist. .
What a class act, with great feel. Everything he plays is tasteful. Best one of these I've seen yet. Thank you.
Kirk is jaw dropping good. Best thing about him, in my opinion, he makes the people around him better than they are. Everyone steps their game through roof being around him. Really cool, positive guy.
What a cool guy! Surprised I missed this when it first aired. Kirk seems so humble and down to earth, a pleasure to listen to with killer skills. Thanks Captain for this interview, and by the way, thanks for all you share with us.
He makes it look so effortless & relaxed .. deff my favourite blues rhythm guitarist
I am sad to say, I had never heard of Kirk Fletcher. After watching this glorious video, I will be rectifying that. Man, he was such a joy to watch! I love how he would get so happy while playing! Blues on! Thanks for the vid Capt and Kirk! I'm going to your site right after this to see if you're playing near me!
great guy, back to basics, no frills, no pretention, just the music!
Fantastic video... Nice job to both. To answer the Clapton question. He desperately wanted to be in The Band, but could not get the courage to ask Robbie Robertson. The Band's type of music, song-oriented, is what shaped Clapton's 70's writing and sound.

Clapton said in an interview that he was tired of The Cream and flew to Woodstock to ask Robbie to join The Band.. He just could not gain the courage. They already had Robbie and the band was great as is. He left and reshaped his sound and made some amazing music... still does.
He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite players. Lots of great subtle/tasteful stuff in his approach. Seems like such a kind and humble dude!
Kirk's the man.
So humble! Playing starting around 20:20 gave me chills. Just "messing around". True master, blues player. Wow!! beautiful playing and tone! Very inspirational!!
A humble guy with great chops. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks so much!
He seems like a really great guy. I've seen him live. He's a great player.
What a wonderful guitarist and humble human being this guy is. Really enjoyed this one captain!
I enjoy these videos a lot, such a good watch.
