Thanks Paul for your graft with these lovely videos, for supporting a sibling wild camper with his fab little business, for making it “ok” to be a normal bloke, for involving your missus, for making me smile, and for having a very natural gift for talking about your/our interest so watchably (if that’s even a word!). I even got my missus to watch one of your videos and told her “This is the bloke I watch” so she could better understand (or permit!😂) my hobby. I’ve pledged £85 for the full set too as after starting in alcohol stoves, then trying gas, I realised on my Hadrians Wall sea to sea (to Tynemouth, past Wallsend) that alcohol is my go to hands down. Bless your good and generous heart ❤️

Thanks for this great news Paul 👍 As someone who just missed out on getting one of Norman's classic SNCs back in 2020 (for my Alpkit Mytipot 900) before he sadly passed away - it is great to see that another outdoor enthusiast has taken up the torch. Norman poured his heart into his products, and his clever design deserves to live on in a revised and modernised form. So good luck to these guys..!

Pledged my dosh about 10 days ago, glad to hear its made the target now 👍👍. Just got to Puck you up slightly on one point. Trail Designs Caldera is very similar ( if not cheaper) so long as you use a reshipping service. Yes, granted, if you go for the Fissure Ti-tri, which is virtually identical to the Stormin cone, its a lit more, but a standard Caldera code is comparable on price. That said, I'm happy that we can buy UK made gear over US. Well done Stripey. Good effort 👍👍👍

Hi Paul, some valid and good points. Unfortunately we are just starting and the material prices in low quantities is just ridiculous for titanium. This cone is as light and efficient as it gets, hence the bigger pot surface instead of a more narrow one. Right now we are focusing on manufacturing the kickstarter cones and I am sure that in the future we will bring out more pot sizes as well as a more budget friendly option out of ordinary stainless steel. Thanks a lot Stripey

Looks interesting. I’m in Dallas, Texas, and I just spent a load to get the X-Boil, shipped internationally, after being unable to procure an original Caldera Cone. One disadvantage of the cone is that it only fits one pot, so offers no flexibility of which pot to take, whereas the X-boil accommodates different sizes of pots (to a degree). It also is not as fiddly to set up, since it is in one piece, with just little brackets set on top. The X-boil does take approximately 1.5 minutes longer to boil water, with the smallest of 3 included can stoves, than your new setup. It is more readily available in the UK, being from Germany, than it was for me in the U.S. I paid a chunk for shipping! Glad to see a new company onto this stellar design!

The one problem I see with that is the use in wind; it may blow away spilling burner and/or fuel, once the water has heated and the pot removed for pouring into one’s crouton infested soup! Occurred to me the other day when I used my home made one when out on D-Day homage, silently trekking a French resistance track from France into Switzerland and it was very blowy amongst the pines and beech woods. Cheers.

Love it and how light weight it is. Won't lie I could make this in my garage quite easily. Could source it from aluminum cans as well. Could also make them in different sizes. Love it. I'd love to see it with a Toaks 750ml, but I do see the advantage of more of a pot than a deeper cup (which is what the Toaks 750ml is). I've come to really hate the isobutane stove noise. I'm never in that much of a hurry, quite frankly; there's something to be said for slowing down, especially if you're just cooking some reheated food and letting that aroma drift on the breeze as you're hanging out at camp unwinding from the day.

I tried alcohol stoves for the first time after seeing them on KZread, and wow I LOVE the lack of noise! I'm not in that big a hurry so boil times aren't a thing. As for being a full time KZreadr, I can't even imagine. A friend wanted me to start a channel with him doing camping sorts of things but I'm not of the look-at-me generation, and with the bitter competition I just didn't have it in me. The first thing I thought when I saw it was "Caldera Cone". I've had one of the Ti-Tri models for about fifteen years. It's a shame about the shipping, but I suppose that helps keep your own makers up and running. I run into the same thing when I want to order Chill Cheater paddling gear from the UK. The price is reasonable, but the taxes and shipping are ridiculous. I imagine the US is the "China" of cottage gear for the rest of the world....just not cheap enough.

I'm with you Paul love my stormin Norman and I'm 100% backing Stripey with this, in fact just posted his kickstarter on a couple of groups this morning! It was actually one of your subs who kindly sent me my Stormin Norman after I posted a comment on one of your videos! ❤😊

Reckon I’ll be getting one of these, I have an old stormin Norman but when I tried getting in contact with him to get a larger one made for a titan kettle I discovered the legendary chap had passed. It’s taken far too long for someone to take up his mantel, I’m genuinely excited to see how this one matches up.

Looks great, but I will wait until it has been engineered for larger than a 700ml pot. If I recall correctly, Stormin Norman customized to several brands and pot capacities (?). But a Kickstarter project has to start somewhere 👍

This would work with the Toaks 1100 (1.1L) or any 115mm diameter pot, per the Kickstarter. That's my plan for 1 vs 2 person trips.

Good vid. Didn't take much to make it. Good looking simple stove setup. I don't have an alcohol stove so this vould be the one. Thanks. Keep track of the days

No alcohol stove? Make your own. An Aluminium Soft Drink Can, some Ceramic / Glass Wool or Fibre Glass (all 'salvaged') and a SAK with an Awl. 30 minutes (if that) and Bob's your Uncle.

Just backed it, looks like a nice kit. I could make one myself, I can lay my hands on both aluminium and titanium sheet, but this is easier...

I bet that would work well with a Trangia Alcohol Burner, which self-pressurises through heat build-up in the Burner

Nice! Although I'm sticking with my Trail Designs Sidewinder and 900ml Toaks pot. I was lucky enough to buy one back when shipping from the US wasn't quite so expensive.

Still have a single piece Ti Stormin Stove for the 700ml Enernew Ti Pott. Never used it much, BRS3000 became a strong alternative, but it sure is a cool kit made in the UK.
