The all new design dash for 1990 w. Air bag was literally a million times better than the old style that you can't see in the day time at all...

I really love the gauge cluster of the C2 63 - 67 and the C3 68 - 75 best . To me a sports car should be well read dials . I loved the dash in my 77 Trans Am . I drove several of the 84 and later 80's Corvettes at the time . The dash sertainly got your attention . The 90 - 96 had analog tachometer , water temp , oil pressure , oil temp , and volts . The speedometer was a central digital display . 92 and later you could also display the water / oil / volts on the central display also . I like the fact that they went back to the analog dials with the C5 . The C4 dash was always seen as gimmicky to sports car purist . Not knocking them i own two 91 ZR1'S and a base 96 Coupe . GM played with digital dashes in some of their vehicle in the 80's and 90's including Cadillacs . Porsche never felt the need to do this with their vehicles and its classic .

Analog gages have been around forever, so when the C4 came out with digital, they got a big wow! and you either like them or as you said gimmicky, but they are a very cool part of the Corvette history. Today's digital screens, you can make them the way you like, also very cool. Thanks for your comment.
