I’ve decided to redo my very early video for the pedal steel part for the Sweetheart of the Rodeo outtake All I Have Are Memories by the Byrds.
The series of videos for this will be done over the coming weeks.
Having made the decision, I thought I might as well do the Clarence White guitar parts as well, since nobody else on KZread has bothered to do them.
This video demonstrates the first of three solos that Clarence did on the track.
I recorded a backing track for the eventual pedal steel parts and for the guitar solos at a slightly slower tempo.
I’m not a Clarence expert by any means but I did spend quite a bit of time listening to the parts over and over again to make sure I was as accurate I could be.
As such I believe I’ve done a reasonable job recreating the solo,which to me sounds like a relaxing doodle for Clarence who was a session guitarist at the recording session on 1 May 1968 in Los Angeles.
As always any mistakes are my responsibility.
